A former two storey, very welcoming typical 1800's Bolognese rural house, Villa Genziana is located in the Calderara section of Bologna, only a few kilometres from the centre of town. It benefits from good public transportation connections and is extremely convenient to the airport and the fairground. The villa offers a private parking and a pretty fenced yard with lawn and a barbecue for relaxation and child safety. It underwent total renovation in May 2004 paying particular attention to effective insulation (providing 100% quiet and a perfect temperature all year-round), decoration, details, and functionality. Cotto floors, timber ceilings, and traditional Italian rural furniture chosen with taste and zest, mix with all the necessary modern appliances including a dishwasher, a washing machine, an air-conditioning system, a microwave oven, a TV with VCR and a computer plug-in. All this, to make your stay at Villa Genziana exactly like home -- or even better!

The first floor consists of an entryway, a large living room with a fireplace and twin-size sofa bed, a kitchen (with all tools provided), a bathroom with a Jacuzzi and shower, a laundry room and a small storage room. The second floor has one large bedroom (with two twin-size beds or one queen-size bed plus one single sofa-bed), with own bathroom. And there's one smaller bedroom (with two twin-size beds or one queen-size bed and one single sofa-bed) with its own bathroom. The villa is gas heated and firewood is available for the fireplace.

Good hospitality is there all the time: The property owners, Alberto and Anna (both corporate persons in the field of electronics), live about 200 yards from the villa in the middle of their own land, while Alessandro, their son, lives with his wife right next door and is available for assistance.

Great place, excellent price

Our family stayed at this property for two weeks and totally enjoyed it. There is plenty of room both inside and outside, it is perfectly furnished, very clean ans well stocked. We had all that for an excellent price, no reason to check into a hotel given all that. Plus, the center is very easily reachable by train, only 7-8 minutes and the station is walking distance. I totally recommend this place. Paul.

My family and I had the opportunity to stay at this property and found it great! Even though it is not centrally located, its position makes it very convenient to the center of Bologna and all the relevant spots in town, either by bus or by car. The rural environment is really pretty and the house is much better than what you see in the pictures - actually I think Alberto should take new, better pictures of both the inside and the outside. We enjoyed the yard and the barbecue as much as we did the surrounding cities (Modena, Verona, Ferrara, Mantua), which we easily visited with daily trips. The inside of the house was great too -- very clean, well furnished and stocked -- and the owners proved to be really gracious and helpful from the very beginning. All in all -- we felt like family and got the best value for our money. Highly recommended.
