Ceriana is situated 9 miles inland from the beautiful & cosmopolitan resort of San Remo. It has authentic food shops, a cafe/a bar/2 restaurants within 5 mins walk of the house. There are 2 other restaurants about 5 - 10 mis drive away. It is approached via a winding mountain road, which is wide in most places and has barriers. The wonderful greenhouses, with a variety of plants grown for export throughout the world, are to be seen on the way up from the coast. Ceriana, a real working village, is home of the renowned 'Crespi Figli' olive oil, sold in Harrods! The people are welcoming and charming. Our neighbours are lovely and always willing to help our guests. San Remo is famed for its shopping, casino and restaurants. It also has a marina and a great market on Saturdays and Tuesdays. The aquarium in Monaco is well worth a visit too. In the season, there is also whale watching. Nice airport is about 1 hour to the West & Genoa within 2.5 hours drive to the East.

| Notes: | There is electric heating, by wall convectors in each room and an imitation stove containing a fan heater in the living room. There is also a large portable gas heater for when it's particularly cold. The fridge is integrated and has a small freezer compartment. The upper bedroom has no door but privacy is gained, as it is situated on a completely different level from the second bedroom, which is located two floors below and has a door. Sadly, the house is not suitable for children, the elderly or infirm due to its location and layout inside (stone steps). Neither would it be suitable for teenagers who are looking for more activities at night. Parking is free in one of the 3 car parks in the village, then it's on foot via the Medieval pathways; some are steep so good shoes to be worn when traversing them. Please provide your own beach towels. Suitable for couples who like walking and seeking a romantic, fascinating and unusual mountain setting. |
Other Activities Market & designer shopping, aquarium, casino, whale watching, go-karting, boating, golf, inexpensive local eating out & ideal for sketching/painting.

Having visited Ceriana a few years ago, we knew it would be a lovely town, but we were completely overwhelmed by the view from the house, the tranquil, beautiful and friendly square, the decor and appointment of the house and everything else. The walking around Ceriana is fantastic and unspoilt and the public transport system excellent if you don't have a car. All of the shops, bars and restaurants in town have a lovely understated charm. The whole experience was about as good as it gets.
Owner's response:
We are delighted with the excellent feedback received from our guests in North Yorkshire who enjoyed the whole experience and are pleased that the holiday lived up to their expectations.
