At the back another garden with a barbecue, overlooking the small mountain stream, Liro. ' SANDRA ' apartment can accommodate up to six people. One double bedroom - a corner with two single beds and a bedroom with twin beds/double bed possible for sleeping. The open kitchen is equipped with cooker/oven, microwave and dishwasher. Bathroom with bathtub and washing machine. Garage for two cars. The lakeside is at 500 m., restaurants, supermarket and shops at 400 m.

Lake Como

Lake Como is one of the most beautiful Italian lakes. It is situated in a basin surrounded by mountains. The lake offers quite a varied landscape, with colourful scenery and surroundings all year round. The largest town on the southwest coast is Como, with historical monuments and wonderful shops for that special purchase of Italian fashion and the weekly markets where you can find everything from designer shoes and bags to pots and pans. Trip The northern part of Lake Como is known throughout Europe for it's great sailing and water activities. The location offers a temperate climate and from March to October, you have the 'breva' which is the typical thermic winds of the lake. There are many famous sailing clubs, and many windsurf and kite-surfing schools, which offer courses for children and beginners. It is also possible to rent the equipment necessary to participate in these activities.

Gravedona

Gravedona was historically an important village, the palace Gallium, and the baptismal church of S.Maria del Tiglio are testimony to its history . The area has a temperate climate in summer, and pleasant temperatures in winter favoured by the warm “tramontana” wind descending from the Alps. Being south of the Alps, especially in winter, there are many days of cloudless weather, and in summer, gentle rain which keeps all the foliage green. For golfers at least 3 golf courses are nearby including the oldest course in Italy in Menaggio. An excursion by ferry boat, crisscrossing the lake gives you beautiful views of the private villa’s and parks. You can also criss-cross the lake by boat with regular services. In Gravedona there are numerous recreational activities and water sports.

Getting There

By car through Switzerland Gotthard tunnel, Lugano, Italian border, Menaggio, Gravedona, or through Switzerland Splugen pass, Chiavenna, Gravedona. The apartments are just 100 Km far from Milano Malpensa / Linate airport , budget flights,e.g. with ( http://www.ryanair.com or easyet ) arrive at Milano or Bergamo airport . All these airports have the main car hire companies, and bus connections to lake Como

Skiing Information:

Skiing Information Famous winter sport resorts such as St. Moritz , Madesimo and Bormio ( hot spring baths) are at 90 min. car-distance. Splugen and in two hours the Gotthard mountain region and San Bernardino Locals tend to go on a day-outing for skiing and hiking. For lovely walks in the snow and sledge riding , in the valleys behind Gravedona up to 2000 m. high.

Golf Information:

Golf Information Menaggio ( 15 km) 18 holes, from which a panoramic view on the lake . This is the oldest golf course in Italy as it was founded in 1907 and in Lanzo ( 30 km) 9 holes in Val D’Intelvi up in the hills at 600 m. altitude, or Lugano at 40 km, or Como 46 km.
