Residenza Valsolda apartment is located in the small, quaint and very old Italian town of San Mamete, just five minutes from the Swiss Border. The Apartment is situated directly on the lake and includes a private boat dock (boat rentals are available in the area). We have multiple one-bedroom apartments available to rent. The accommodation includes a furnished kitchen, linens, and a hairdryer. Satellite television and stereo are also available. There is an elevator in the building. Restaurants, shopping, post-office, bank, etc. are within walking distance of the apartment.

Possibly the prettiest village on Lake Lugano, San Mamete is just five minutes from the Swiss Border. It has a fairy-tale castle and the peaceful valley of Valsoldo is its backdrop. San Mamete is a delightful 17th century village nestled on the shores of Lake Lugano at the entrance to Valsolda. The village offers the following services: a hotel, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 banks, 2 grocery stores, a hairdresser, a post office, a doctor’s office and a boat dock for commercial use. (Please see the town map above for locations.) After crossing the border from Switzerland in the direction of Porlezza, you will find some of the most scenic coastline and charming villages found anywhere on the Italian Lakes.

a fairytale like setting

We stayed in San Mamete for our honeymoon and what an idyllic location it was. The villa is set right on the lakeside and next to the village. Our mornings were spent drinking cappuccinos feeding the swans and their signites. In the afternoons, we took the cabin up the mountain for the most spectacular vistas, visited Bellagio, Lugano and the halmets behind. The views are what made it though, we have never seen something so spectacular as the valley and lake in front. Our only complaint is there is no footpath on the road into the village, however, we found this applied to all the lakeside towns. Thank you to Roswitha & Roger for looking after us so well. We will be back – hopefully for a special anniversary!

Absolutely beautiful setting, fantastic views, beautiful balcony overlooking the lake. Fantastic delicatessan in easy walking distance with all the italian treats you can savour. Very clean and spacious, would highly recomend
