The 17th century Monastery of Agostiniano stands in a piazza at the top of the medieval town of Sant' Angelo in Pontano. It has a panoramic view of the Marche landscape and the Sibillini Mountains from the other entrance. Part of the Monastery has recently been refurbished and converted into apartments. Come and enjoy self-catering in the penthouse that includes all home comforts and spectacular views in the perfect location for a perfect summer holiday rental. 1hr 20mins from Ancona airport. Explore churches, galleries and ancient towns, the apartment is a great location between the beach and the mountains. Gaze in awe at the high plains carpeted in kaleidoscopic alpine blooms each spring. Tour the vineyards, brush up your watercoloring or focus on photography. Swim in lake Fiastra, take a picnic of prosciutto, pecorino, tomatoes, olives and foccacia. Take in the outdoor opera at Macerata, or shop til you drop for Italian shoes at the factory outlets.

A great base for exploring the treasures of Le Marche. Macerata has the famous outdoor opera, a beautiful Italian theatre, Italian shoes - hand made, we'll tell you where to go! designer outlet shopping, including Prada, Tod's, Armani. San Ginesio, Sarnano and Ascoli Piceno all host a Palio in summer, (tournaments on horseback with Mediaeval costumes). The beautiful sandy beaches are only 45 mins away, at Civitanova Marche, Porto San Giorgio along to the palm lined beaches at San Benedetto. Trek the Sibillini Mountains the Sibillini National Park, & the breath taking scenery. Day trips include Assisi, Loreto, see frescos in Tolentino, Roman ruins, the Frasassi caves and Urbino to see the Dukes Palace. Even a trip to Rome is possible by train or bus if you don't fancy driving the 3.5 hours. Swim in the lago di Fiastra, or in winter ski in the mountains. TOURS: Tours can be arranged. If you would like a trip into the mountains or into Macerata, it can be organised for you. Dates for the Macerata opera festival can be found on our website- please contact for address. We know the factory outlets for both fashion and shoes, so a 'shopping tour' is possible too. Visit Nazareno Gabrielli, Prada, Genny, Tombolini, Romeo Gigli and others. Marche makes 95% of Italy shoes, a shoe tour is also available. Private driver from 100 euros.

RESTAURANTS: There are 2 restaurants within the historical centre of Sant'Angelo, easily reached on foot from the Monastery, and a third just outside the town, (English is spoken by one of the waiters). Details will be found in a 'house-book' of the best places to eat and places to see, along with lots of tourist guides and leaflets.

SPORTS & ACTIVITIES: Water sports are available on the coast. Skiing is available from Christmas time until usually about Easter in the Mountains near Sarnano. Horse Riding, Mountain Biking, Swimming.....We can send details by email of activities and where to go.
