L'Oliveto has two self-catering apartments in an olive grove set on its own hill in a tranquil valley five minutes from Mogliano, in the heart of rural Le Marche. One self-catering apartment has two bedrooms, the other one bedroom. There is a large swimming pool amongst the olive trees, with a timber deck and views across the valley, where guests can watch the sun setting over the hills. Different seating areas in amongst the olive trees offer the guests the opportunity to enjoy the peaceful rural surroundings. The owner and her family live onsite and can offer advice on local amenities, restaurants and places to visit. The cantina has been restored for the summer of 2008 and the owner will serve both lunch and supper for an additional charge. It provides a cool and atmospheric space, away from the heat of the Italian summer. The property has been restored maintaining it's characteristic original features. The one bedroom apartment is up a flight of stairs from the front terrace. It is light and airy, with views across the countryside, through the olive trees. It has an open-plan kitchen living room with a dining table, a bedroom with three beds and a bathroom. It has morning and evening sunshine but is cool during the worst heat of the day. It has the exclusive use of a terraced area near the entrance, with a table and chairs, as well as access to the rest of the garden and different seating areas. It has been restored in keeping with the rural character of the property.

L'Oliveto is five minutes from the lively small town of Mogliano, with five bars, several restaurants, a weekly market and festas throughout the summer. Macerata is the nearest city, twenty minutes away, with an amphitheatre for opera in the summer, a busy shopping area and museums and galleries. The surrounding area is hilly, with a village or small town capping each hill, each with it's own distinctive character and beautiful historical centre. The local artists are Lorenzo Lotto and Crevelli, Mogliano has a Lorenzo Lotto but the best is to be seen in Monte San Giusto, twenty minutes from Mogliano. The Sibillini Mountains are forty minutes from L'Oliveto and offer skiing in the winter. There are wildflower meadows in the Piano Grande and beautiful walks all year round. The Adriatic coast is forty minutes from L'Oliveto, with child-friendly beaches and restaurants offering delicious seafood. A Franciscan monastery, Abbadia di Fiastra, is ten minutes away, with walks and cycle tracks.

The Cantina: The Cantina has been restored ready for the season of 2008. Accessed through the garden it offers a cool space for meals. Guests can book full board, prices on request, or order meals during their stay and pay at the end of the holiday. There is a standard charge for all meals, of €10 per person for lunch and €15 per person for supper. The food is all prepared onsite, using local recipes and local ingredients. Prices include wine to be served at both lunch and supper.
