Macerata holiday cottage: Urbisaglia

I would just like to thank you and your family for making us so welcome at the cottage. You have a wonderful holiday home in a beautiful location, you maintain it well and the whole house is in superb condition.
We found the ambiance of the house perfect, the fact that we could just sit by the pool in private, lost in our own thoughts, talking, reading etc., was something the whole family needed.
For myself i found the daily runs around the Abbey and surrounding area absolutely marvellous, almost a different route every day. If i had also realised that the surrounding roads were perfect for a road bike i would have seriously thought about bringing my bike from the UK. It is a runners and cyclists paradise. Perhaps you are missing an opportunity in selling the house to those who cycle and run.
We found the pool a blessing during the long hot days and it was particularly inviting after day trips to the coast and the mountains. The small shop at the Abbey with the fresh produce and milk; that was something every village should aspire too. The cold milk, available in a glass bottle, was perfect; it took me back to my childhood.
On Max’s recommendation we took a couple of day trips into the hills, what a beautiful area, since we are all very keen skiers, i will watch with interest the webcams of the Ski resorts of Sassotetto, Maddalena and Bolognola, who knows, you may get a winter rental.
Every town has it's own Market day and it just so happened we must have been to most of them. A wonderful chance to experience another way of everyday living, Beats shopping at the major supermarkets anyday. Tolentino and Visso a must for the experience alone.
The outside shower room was excellent, a room with a view, my personal bathroom. The sunsets from the garden towards the mountains are what screen savers are made of and the swing, well not for the faint hearted, but with shout and whoops of laughter, we knew the children (and adults) were enjoying themselves.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, i can recommend the cottage to anyone who has a young family, (or older), would like the privacy of the house and pool and yet still be able to get about and enjoy the wonderfully friendly local people, experience the culture, visit the many small villages and sites of historical interest, all well away from the usual tourist trappings of the bigger and better know locations. Anyone who tries this location will not regret it. Ciao.
