Converted farmhouse with pool, pizza oven and stunning views

Villa Sasso is a converted farmhouse set in about a hectare of gardens, orchard and woods. The villa has been fully restored, and looks out over a beautiful valley of fields, vineyards and historic hill-top villages. Up to 16 people can be accommodated, in 8 bedrooms with cots and high-chairs available on request. There is ample space to relax in the large sitting room, which includes wide-screen TV, DVD and an electric piano. The kitchen is large and well equipped - ideal for large groups. There are excellent facilities for entertaining: terraces and barbecue with tables and chairs for dining, and views over the valley, with the choice of sun or shade. The pizza oven has been restored and is available for pizzas and other baking. One double bedroom (with en-suite bathroom) is in a small annex, a few yards from the main house. The 12x6m pool (open May to September) offers beautiful views across the valley to the mountains.

Villa Sasso is set on the side of a hill overlooking a quiet valley, in the Verdicchio wine region of the Marche, about 30 minutes from Ancona airport, on the Adriatic coast. The rural villages of Sasso and Castellaro are around 1½ - 2 miles away, with bar, small supermarket and a pizzeria. In the valley (about 5 miles away) can be found many shops, bars, restaurants and larger supermarkets. The nearest large town is Jesi, with a beautiful historic centre with churches, museums and galleries, and opera house. The Renaissance city Urbino, birthplace of Raphael, is about 90 minutes away. The Adriatic coastline (about 25 miles away) has many beautiful beaches and bays. You must visit Senigallia, a smart seaside resort with miles of flat sandy beaches, and Sirolo, a beautiful village with spectacular views over the Adriatic, and small secluded beach.

Villa Sasso - outside

Badminton, table tennis and other games available to play in the open lawn areas. Outdoor toys for young children can be provided upon request. There is a large orchard with many varieties of fruit trees, including cherry, apple, fig, pear, plum, persimmon and olives, which can be freely picked when in season.

Activities and places to visit

Villa Sasso is set on the edge of the Golla della Rossa a regional natural park of great beauty. Birds of prey and wild boar can occasionally be seen on walks from the house. The famous Grotte di Frasassi are also nearby, one of Italy's largest and most famous complex of caves.

Local village festivals

are a major feature of the region. The local villages hold festivals throughout the year (not just the summer months), celebrating the best of the local food, wine and village traditions.
