Tourist Attractions. :
Le Marche remains as yet untouched by large number of tourists unlike Tuscany and Umbria. Marcerata the nearest town is famous for its open-air opera theatre, which takes place every year in the summer months. Loreto close by is the home of one of Catholic Europe's greatest shrines and fine Renaissance art. Close too is Recanati, home of Giacome Leopardi and Benjamino Gigli. The larger town of Urbino, birthplace of Raphael, is a 2 hour drive away as too are Assisi and Perugia. Rome is a 3 hour drive from Le Marche. For nature enthusiasts Monti Sibillini National Park is less than an hour's drive away. Here you can find a variety of wildlife including wolves and eagles and a spectacular collection of wild flowers.
The Adriatic Coast with its stunning Monte Conero beaches and National Park is only 30-40 minutes away. Don't forget to try the superb fish restaurants on the sea front.
The Frasassi Caves are also worth a visit.
At Home. :
Because of the outstanding position that Casa Monte France boasts, the magnificent, breathtaking views never cease to amaze and please, it is an ideal retreat for both artists and writers alike. Although only 5 minutes by car to the nearest village (Pollenza or Passo de Treia), it feels very secluded and it is not overlooked. The old walled town of Treia is a 10 minute drive away. All these towns have a weekly market.
Other Attractions. :
The Verde Azzuro Water Park is found at S. Faustino near Cignoli. An ideal day out for those with children. The Park boasts pools, slides, grand canyon river and water games.
