Casa Ripe is a beautifully restored farmhouse which sits just beneath the charming hilltop village of Ripe San Ginesio. Half an hour from both the stunning mountains of Sibillini and the golden beaches of the Adriatic, the house sleeps up to 6 people, with 2 double rooms and a large twin bedroom, fully-fitted kitchen, bathroom, and dining room. There is a wooden loggia for eating al fresco (with BBQ), and a spacious garden which provides both shaded and sunny areas. Ten minutes away there is a local outdoor swimming pool (25m x 12m). PLEASE NOTE that this year the changeover day is Wednesday, this is to take advantage of the Ryanair mid-week flights which are usually at least 50% cheaper than weekend flights. Currently flights to Perugia (2 hours by car) are especially cheap!!

Notes: There are 2 double bedrooms (with cot) and a large loft room with two single beds. San Ginesio is a beautiful medieval town ten minutes away, where there are 12 public tennis courts, and a large public outdoor swimming pool surrounded by tall pine trees. The house also has a table-tennis table, a darts board, two tennis rackets, a telescope with tripod, a bread maker, and a world service radio. There is also an upright piano in good condition. There are wood burners in both the kitchen and sitting room, and a plentiful supply of wood, which is included in the rental. There is a combi boiler which provides constant hot water. Outside is the garden beset with peach, oak, persimone and fig trees. Also available is a large paddling pool.

Surrounding area: The house is ideal for both summer and winter holidays, being just half an hour from Sarnano, (which as well as the skiing centre has its own thermal baths and many walking routes) and half an hour from the Adriatic coast. 5 miles away lie the Roman ruins of Urbisaglia, (amphitheatre, cryptoportico), and 15 miles away is the walled city of Macerata, which hosts an annual opera festival in its Sferistereo. There are numerous restaurants in the area, which are as pleasing to the palate as they are easy on the wallet.

By Car...: Day trips include: the Frasassi Caves (one of the largest networks in Central Europe), Assisi - with its Basilica, Perugia - a beautiful University City, Bologna - city of art, music and cuisine, Rome - no words necessary.

Airports: Ancona - 1 hour/ Pescara - 2 hours/ Perugia - 2 hours/ Bologna - 2.5 hours/ Roma - 3 hours/ All of which are used by Ryanair

Your house provided the perfect retreat for our holiday in Le Marche. The children were very pleased with the enormous bedroom at the top of the house and loved the Scaletrix and the Blue Planet Videos. I was thrilled to have almost every kitchen implement under the sun to cook with instead of the usual rather meagre equipment! Though the best bit of the day was dusk, sitting with a bottle of wine, looking at the view over
the valley and watching the fireflies. We had meant to eat out rather more frequently than we did but found the lure of the garden too inviting!!

most peaceful holiday ever

We spent two weeks at Casa Ripe in June, when the whole valley lit up with sunflowers. At night the fireflies illuminated the garden, and during the day the only sound to break the silence was the chiming of the church bells from the town above the house, and the occasional popping open of bottles of the delicious local wine. Perfect tranquillity!!
