3 Bedrooms, Bathroom, Shower room, Kitchen & Pool; Beds for 8; Large safe garden

Our traditional Italian farmhouse has living quarters on the upper level and the stores below - typical of many in this part of Italy. Upstairs is a very large open area with the kitchen, the dining area and the sitting area. A large fireplace dominates the sitting area and a small Italian stove ('stufa') adds to the feel. Off this main room are 3 large bedrooms, two with 2 single beds and one with a double bed. There is also a double sofa-bed.. There is a table tennis table downstairs .The villa sits on a very quiet mountain road with a large 15m x 6m swimming pool and panoramic views from every angle. The garden is completely fenced and very safe for children. The hamlet of Piandicastello is about 150 meters along the road and there are two very nice restaurants within walking distance. The quiet roads around are perfect to explore this marvellous part of Italy.

For the cycling enthusiasts, this is the middle of Pantani country. Heaven!

The beach is about 25 minutes away from the house and the cultural splendours of San Marino, Urbino, Gradara and San Marino are all within 30 minutes drive. Around the house, castles and churches perch grandly on the surrounding mountain-tops and in the villages below you can spend your holiday discovering their history and spending time exploring the many interesting shops and markets. There are also plenty of nature walks & peaceful places to visit nearby. You can also chose your type of beach - one with all the amenities or a quiet one with just you and the sand. Afterwards a visit to one of the many traditional family-run Italian restaurants can be perfect for those tired feet!

For children, the beaches are perfect but on the coast, you also have a wide range of children’s entertainment, from theme parks, go-karting & horse-riding, to the ‘cool’ cafes and clubs in Rimini and Cattolica for the teenagers.

Additional information about rental rates

  • We normally ask for 50% of the total on booking and the remaining 50% 8 weeks before arrival.
  • The house will be ready for you and if you need some advice or help, please just call me. We also have a gardener and pool man, Gaultiero, who will pop by every couple of days to ensure the pool is crystal clear and the garden is looking beautiful. He is a real gentleman and is happy to offer help and advice (in Italian!).

Notes: Also off the main living area is a utility room and store, and the bathroom and shower room. The kitchen has a oven, hob and large fridge and there is a freezer downstairs. Downstairs, built into the house itself, is an wood ‘forno’ (oven) – traditional in this part of Italy. The rest of downstairs is open storage with a full size table tennis table.

More testimonials!: All went very well at the house. It is a very nice place and the layout is perfect for young kids (i.e. everything on the same level and all rooms feeding off the central living room). The main bed is the comfiest I have slept in for years. I can't think of anything you need to do to improve it. The pool is outstanding (by far the longest private pool I have seen - good for laps) and the views are superb. The man that cleans the pool is an asset for you.

The local villages are all very nice and the local forts and castles are surprisingly interesting (I say surprising because they are not well known, but places like San Leo would rank as good as many on say the Rhine). San Leo was our favourite place

And even more happy people !: All of our party were extremely impressed with the villa. It had everything we needed in it and the views and the many walks that we went on were superb. The best restaurant in the area, which also happened to be inexpensive, was within easy walking distance, so there was no need to use the car in the evening to seek out food. Adding in fire flies in the evening, the proximity to San Marino and the coast, all in all a superb holiday - I am sure that I will be contacting you with a view to using the villa again in the future.

The villa was a great base, giving us loads of opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside. Perhaps the best part of staying at the villa was just being able to chill out beside the pool and watch the countryside unfolding in front of you - with a chilled glass of Prossecco where possible!

Our holiday was fantastic!

Our holiday was fantastic. We had a very relaxing time sitting by the pool for hours - mainly at the picnic table - just gazing at the view, which we could not get enough of. We did enjoy the pool itself too; it was amazing to have such a huge pool all to ourselves. We also followed David's recommendations for trips: Urbino, San Marino, Pesaro, San Leo, Pennabilli.

We were in Piandicastello Farmhouse last September and spent great two weeks (four adults and three small kids) House and kitchen is well equipped everything what you need is there (including tennis table and some toys for fun in water). Pool at the back of the house is nice with great, great view. You can go to Tavoletto, Gradara, Urbino, San Marino and many interesting places or to nice beaches in Rimini, Gabbice Monte – everything within 30/60 minutes by car.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

"We had wonderful time at the villa"

Indeed, we had wonderful time at the villa. The house was very comfortable for 2 couples and 3 kids, nicely furnished, with sweet decoration details. We enjoyed the swimming pool with its reasonable size, bigger than what's often offered in Italy or Spain. Privacy and quiet neighbourhood were much appreciated. We also enjoyed the area, where the villa is situated, which offers nice routes for walks and the splendid view. Boys (my husband and our friend) spent few evenings playing ping-pong, what is an additional opportunity at the villa. We also tried the pizza oven.
Although, we considered it an advantage, guests need to be informed that the villa is located a distance from the main roads. We liked the windy road through the mountains, but some people may consider the time it takes to drive.

Great Spot on the hill

We have been to this house last August and had a great time. The house has a real full size pool. Plenty of space around the house. Nice kitchen (full equipped) and livingroom. From the back of the house you have a great view. The beach and nice spots to visit al nearby.
For us a place we keep in mind to come back to.

Classic Italy

Our family spent two lovely weeks here at the start of the summer. The location is idyllic. If you are looking for a quite location with superb views then this is for you.
A car is required and allows all the surrounding towns and villages to be enjoyed. All the necessary facilities to enjoy a very typical Italian holiday are available. Locals are incredibly friendly and helpful especially if you make a bit of effort and immerse yourself in the lifestyle.
Cottage owners were also very attentive and ensured everything went well.
Do not be confused about this cottage and holiday. It is classic and authenic Italy allowing visitors to sample typical country living.
If you want the bright lights and big TVs the the costas maybe a better option!
