The Cuneo countryside is magnificently varied, providing a perfect escape for those with a love of the great outdoors. The valleys and hills are protected in large swathes by national park status, where walking and horse riding holidays thrive. The whole area is covered in ancient villages, dramatic medieval castles and elegant country villas, as well as vineyards producing fine, fruity wines for your enjoyment. The Argentera National park and the valleys of Valle del Pesio and Valle Gesso are some of the finest places to walk from a Cuneo property. Rock goats, buzzards, chamois and rock whistlers can all be seen in the mountains which protect the province, which can regularly be seen from horse back, on foot or on bicycle.

Cuneo is also known for its hot springs, especially the famous Valdieri Hot Springs, which are ludicrously relaxing, especially after a hard day out in the countryside, although little excuse is needed to indulge in an afternoon of pampering. The cuisine is some of the best in Piedmont. Nuts and cheese play a huge roll in Cuneo cooking, and there are a huge number of English speaking cookery courses to be done in the area.
