La Miniera is located 50 km north of Turin, near the community of Lessolo, in the hamlet of Calea. It lays on a wide terrace on the right hillside of the Dora Baltea river, near the town of Ivrea, in Canavese, few km from Aosta Valley and from Biella, well known town for its wool factories, with easy access by A5 motorway from Aosta or Turin or by A4 motorway from Milan. In the neighbourhood you can find many enchanting lakes, among them Lake Sirio and Lake of Viverone. Ivrea is famous for its Carnival and the battle with oranges. Turin with its palaces, castles, museums, old cake and chocolate shops and bars, its new buildings for 2006 Olympic Games is just round the corner. Skiing areas are very easy to reach. The main thing people can do is to live some days among nature sounds and colours, listening to the streams roar, jay's sneer, owl's night songs, watching fire-flies sparkling in the dark, finding out boar’s tracks or simply to walk among the woods.
