The ancient village of Orta possesses a charm and a fascination, that are difficult to describe, it is the pearl and the heart of the lake. The lack of cars together with old houses with granite portals and wrought iron gates, the small lanes, the inside yards and the small shops will take you back to the past. Orta is enchanting , largely unchanged for centuries with typical cobbled streets and archways with plenty of bars, and restaurants of all types.
