Historic apartment by Castle on Lake Bracciano with easy access to Rome

Located in the 'centro storico' of Bracciano & adjacent to the 14th Century Castle Odelscalchi, the spacious 120 sq metre 'Casa la Castellana' occupies the entire floor of a small 14th Century building and has a private entrance onto a small, quiet piazza, and it's just 150 meters to the main castle square and restaurants and shops of all kinds. It features a large living-dining room with antique stone fireplace, beamed ceilings, and tiled floors, and blue/white tiled country kitchen. Each of two bedrooms has two twin beds and a view of the village below. The two sofas in the living room make into twin beds. A colourful country market takes place on Wednesdays in the town centre. Sailing & windsurfing on Lake Bracciano are a short walk away through the woods, and horseback riding, golfing, biking, & hiking in the countryside are close at hand (forest of Manziana 10 minutes by car). Rome is less than an hour's drive away, or a convenient commuter train runs every 20 minutes to Rome

Bracciano, a charming little town on Lake Bracciano northwest of Rome, is dominated by the majestic 14th Century Oldescachi Castle, one of the most beautiful feudal residences in all of Europe and site of the Tom Cruise - Kate Holmes wedding. The location just doesn't get any better. An easy commute to the center of Rome (less than an hour), an easy walk to the lake (20 minutes), and an easy drive to the sea (20 minutes). The best of all worlds, the peace of a lakeside town with the madness of beautiful, wonderful Rome at an easy distance. The Umbrian towns of Todi, Assisi, Perugia, and Gubbio and the Tuscan towns of Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca and Florence are doable day trips. The Fiumicino Airport is 30 minutes away and the Ciampino Airport is 1 hour away.
