Bracciano, situated between Rome and Viterbo, has a population of approximately 15,000 inhabitants. Its lake, Natural Park and Botanical Gardens of San Liberato are wonderful attractions for nature-lovers, while the 15 th -century Orsini-Odescalchi Castle, the Church of Santa Maria Novella, the Santo Stefano Cathedral, the old town, & the Historical Military Aircraft Museum are of great historical & artistic interest. There is a comfortable rail link (FM3) from Bracciano to Rome: Saint Peter's station, (around 50 min).
Viterbo, an ancient medieval town famous for its well-preserved historic centre, may also be reached either with the same rail link (FM3).Etruscan sites of great archaeological interest such as Cerveteri & Pyrgi, are only about 15 minutes from Bracciano by car. The Etruscan Necropolis of Cerveteri was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2004. Bracciano has several beautiful beaches & sailing club.
