Great trip to Rome in a nice apartment

Ann, Ed and kids Stuttgart, Germany
Review Submitted: January 10, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
We stayed with our 3 teenage children in this apartment for 5 nights and had a wonderful visit. The apartment is clean and large enough for the 5 of us. It is a great alternative to a hotel because there are 5 in our family and always need to have 2 rooms - this is a much less expensive option. We had breakfast every morning in the apartment - it is well stocked with all dishes (no coffee maker, however, so we had instant coffee, no problem) and has a kettle, refrigerator, stove and microwave (no oven). It is within easy walking distance to St. Peter's square (even by American walking standards!) and we even went back to the apartment 2 of our days for lunch. There is a nice grocery store around the corner and several nice, but inexpensive restaurants very close by. As stated in the other reviews, the metro station is about 10 minutes walk beyond St. Peter's square but there are bus stops very close to the apartment if you prefer not to walk quite so far. We also made use of the parking garage recommended by Giorgio - it was close and safe. Giorgio's son, Federico, met us at the apartment the evening we arrived and was very helpful to us. We also appreciated all of the sight-seeing information that was provided - it helped us a great deal. We really enjoyed seeing the real Rome that this apartment offers - a bit away from all the tourist traffic. We would definitely stay at this apartment again!
Owner's Response: We' re so happy to read again nice words to the confortability of the apartment and its quitness. We know that it is suitable for families and couples because we have had many evidencies during the last 5 years.
Usually, my wife and myself meet our guests, but we were not in Rome at that moment and we asked our son to do it for us. By reading that he has been helpful and cooperative gave us the certainty that our good and nice tradition of hosting foreign tourists has been well posted.

It is a lovely apartment at Vatican City

Lazio Fan Derby
Review Submitted: November 3, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
My Husband and our two teenage children stayed at this 'lovely' apartment for 5 nights Oct/Nov 2008.Our Hosts were fanastic and arranged a Taxi for us from Ciampino and one for our return, which was necassary as we had a 6.30am flight (NB Ciampino airport closes from midnight to 4.30am) The're accomodation was clean and spacious, plenty of room for us, we didnt spend alot of time there as there is just so much to do in Rome. St Peters square was about a 15/20 minute walk away, we like to walk so it was perfect for us, the most convienient Metro station was another 5/10 min walk from there. There are plenty of bus stops on the main road near the apartment, but we did not use the bus. Be aware the apartment has no views to speak of and the stairs would not suit anyone who was not fit.
We cooked in the apartment one night, which was a cheap night in (note there is no oven), the local supermarket is well stocked and only a couple of minutes away.
There are some good cheap restaurants within a 15 min radius, and take away pizza available from just up the road, but watch out for the expensive beer.
Overall we had a fantastic time in Rome, and our hosts were very helpful both before and during our stay, we managed to get Tickets to see Lazio play thanks to their advice, and we knew if we had any problems we could call and they would sort our problem.

Charming apartment near the Vatican

Fiona and Roger Australia
Review Submitted: June 26, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
This apartment is in an excellent location, just round the corner from a lovely local market, which has some very friendly traders and only a short walk to the Vatican. It is away from the tourist areas, so you have a chance to see some of the "real" Rome. Georgio is also charming and helped us with our bags ( The aprtment is up a lot of steps- be warned!!) and made sure we were settled in before he left. Although not large, the apartment is very usable and is quiet and warm.
We had four adults in the aprtment and felt very comfortable.
