Sabina, an area of green countryside and medieval hill top villages set against the backdrop of the lower Appenine mountains. It is a quiet rural region with a strong sense of local community and many local events throughout the year, especially in the summer with each villages holding it’s ‘Feste’ with pageants, music, dancing, local art and the inevitable ‘al fresco gastronomia’.
The many restaurants will provide you with an opportunity to savour the local cuisine. In the villages you will also find many bars at which you can sit outside with your espresso coffee and cakes.
There are plenty of opportunities for sporting activities either in the local countryside or at local sports centres. The activities available include swimming, tennis, walking and trekking, cycling and horse riding.
Rome is easy to reach by car or train. An hour’s drive will take you to Orvieto, Todi or Spoleto while Tivoli, Ostia Antica, Assisi and Perugia are a bit further away.
