Modernised Eleventh Century Tower on the Sea, Sorrento, Amalfi coast
This massive 11th century tower carefully restored in 1988 is called 'Tor Decameron' because it has been the setting of Pasolini's film: 'the Decameron'. The very spot where Boccacio wrote his famous tales in the 13th century. It perches the head of a cliff and is situated in the historical canter, by Villa Rufolo, surrounded by gardens, it is extremely quiet and green. From the 100 square meter terrace on which opens the living room, one can admire a breath-taking view on the jagged peaks and the Maiori Bay, which deserves 3 stars in the Michelin guidebook to Italy. A green pergola makes up a cool living-place in summer. The tower can be reached by car, but there are 50 steps to climb up: the price for silence....
