Baiarenella Residence is in a very nice positions in the archaeological itinerary midway between Agrigento and Selinunte 100 Km from Palermo airport.

The 2 rooms and loft space apartment is in Baiarenella Residence, a Mediterranean complex of highly comfortable flats, facing over sea, situated in an exclusive area and in a lovely location, in the archaeological itinerary midway between Agrigento 70 km and Selinunte 30km, only 100 metres from the beach and just 3 miles from Sciacca and the ancient thermal town, reach of monuments and history. Poet Vincenzo Licata wrote in 'Terme Selinuntine': In the middle of the gulf which is formed by White Cape and Cape Saint Mark you find a diamond there planted giving light to this immense arc. At both hands with equal distance Agrigento and Selinunte are situated two names in the world-wide history that eternally will never be faded.

Just what i wanted

I stayed in a 1-bedroom version of this flat on the same residence.
The flat was clean and new. the town was great but be aware it's a italian holiday city, so if you don't speak italian be prepared to point and wave. You definitely need to rent a car. For those of you who are not used to cold water (like me), you can enjoy the swimming pools of piscina mollineli. local restaurants and ice-cream shops were great and not that expensive. points to remember: People drive like italians - be careful.
a map or a gps are very good tools.
the shops and bars close for lunch - including supermarkets and pharmacies.
I did a boat tour that leaves from castellamare dell golfo that was beautiful and worthwhile.
Antonio - the manager- was helpful. he came and met us on his lunch hour. in the fridge there was a bottle of water and a plate with fruits. He gave us details of where to find what.
Capo san marco - where the flat is - is calm and you can have a great family holiday.
Just don't forget the water is cold - as cold as england.
you can also see selinunte and agrigento to see the greek temples.
and the etna volcano.
or if you prefer you can visit all the other beaches around there - which are beautiful.
i would go back and recommend to fellow travelers.

Review of Loft Apartment outside Sciacca, W.Sicily

Superbly situated just outside the ancient spa town of Sciacca (pron. SHAKA). The manager even came to meet us on arrival (on his day off) and prepared an impromptu meal. Our Ryanair flight had landed at Trapani airport - a civil airport shared with the Italian airforce. The apartment is approx 1.5 hours drive. Use the Superhighway to just outside Palermo and then head South towards Agigento. Be aware that this is not a hugely touristy area for non-Italians. The restaurants and shops definately require a phrase book and lots of pointing and waving. Driving is Italian - need we say any more. The local beach at S. Marco was good and had lifegurd protection. The mineral spa is well worth a visit - even as a non-swimmer I found that I could easily float in the waters.Sculptures at Il Castelello Incantato also worth a visit. Overall you definately need a hire car and 2 kids would love the loft.
Hope you enjoy as much as we did. It fully merited a 5 for excellent.
