From Panarea it is possible to make excursions in the other islands by the hydrofoils service. The beautiful Mediterranean vegetation is luxuriant of indian figs, brooms, capers and olives. The Aeolian Archipelago with its wonderful and very interesting volcanic nature, defined one of the most beautiful in the world, in the 19th century has been the destination of some famous travellers; for exemple the Writer Alexandre Dumas (father) and the Archiduke Luigi Salvatore of Austria who were preminently travellers and researchers.
