Places to Visit Near Trento, Italy Castello del Buonconsiglio
The impressive Castle on the hillside was the sight where much of the local history has taken place. It was the home of the powerful bishop-princes until the early 19th century and the courtyard was where 21 Lombard volunteers were executed. From the castle the protective walls run around much of the old city. The towers till have the breathtaking 15th century frescoes showing the months of the year.
Madonna di Campiglio
This lovely city was founded by a legendary monk as a refuge for travellers and pilgrims who passed through the area. The royal Hapsburg family fell in love with its charm and transformed it into the jewel it is today. After exploring the area, enjoy dining at the Campiglio, known for its local cuisine.
