Le Fracchie sits high in the hills on the border of Tuscany and Umbria overlooking the medieval castle of Pierle. From a height of 800m one can admire one of the most spectacular panoramas in central Italy in absolute peace and tranquillity. Surrounded by 20 hectares of private woodland, it is a haven for relaxation and regeneration. The fully equipped apartment is contained within the beautifully restored 13th century convent, the extensive grounds of which will be exclusively yours for the duration of your stay. Surrounded by olive trees, the magnificent pool (18x6m) overlooks the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, renowned for its historical interest. Descending by car, the small town of Mercatale offers everything for your basic needs including its own charming Osteria. There are many tracks through the woodland for enthusiastic walkers to enjoy.

Above the terrace is a beautiful daybed from where one can appreciate the spectacular view of the castle of Pierle.The surrounding area is well known for places of historic interest, including the source of the river Tiber, the birth place of Michelangelo, the natural spa waters at Saturnia, the magnificent Convent at Chiusi de la Verna - famous for its association with St Francis of Assisi, and for wine lovers, the beautiful towns of Montepulciano and Orvieto are located near by, plus the choice of many outstanding local restaurants. It is an ideal location for enthusiastic walkers.
