Fully restored from a grain barn in 2006 using traditional building methods and materials, the house is beautifully appointed with chestnut beams, traditional fireplace and handmade terracotta tiling throughout. A stylish kitchen contains everything to give you a home from home experience, opening out onto an open plan living and dining area, making cooking a sociable experience. The dining table seats 8 and looks out over the 2 balconies of the first floor, which open fully to let in the evening breeze and views of the surrounding hills. There is a sofa, double sofa bed and an armchair, so comfortable relaxed seating for 6 adults. Steps from the main entrance take you down into a private garden, where there is outdoor seating for 6 and a barbecue. The house sits on the edge of a small hamlet, opposite the surrounding fields and hills. There are wonderful walks in the hills and around nearby lake. The house is a fantastic base for exploring the towns and sites of Tuscany & Umbria.

The house is located on the edge of a small hamlet ( which does have a grocery shop selling fresh pasta! ) opposite open fields and rolling hills. It is surrounded by lovely walking country, with a large lake nearby. It is a 10 minute drive to the stunning medieval hilltop town of Anghiari and approx 20 minutes by car to the lovely old town of Sansepolcro, the heart of the Piero Della Francesco trail. Half an hour north and you reach the forests of the Casentino and the hilltop monastery where St Francis of Assisi received the stigmata, approx half an hour south and you are in the beautiful Tuscan town of Arezzo, with its antiques market and rich art history. It is approx 1.5 hours by car to either Florence or Urbino, just over an hour to Siena, Cortona or Assisi or the wine routes of Chiantishire or Montepulciano. There are fantastic local restaurants in alpine settings near to Caprese, the birthplace of Michelangelo or some of the best Bisteca in trattorias in Sansepolcro & Anghiari.

Getting There: The most convenient if flying from the UK is Ryanair's new Perugia route from Stansted. This is approx 45 mins by car to the house. Alternatively, there is more frequency to Forli (Bologna Forli from Stansted or Frankfurt) again on Ryanair, this is approx 1.15 mins drive down the E45 motorway. From the rest of continental Europe, closest airports are Bologna (2 hours drive), Florence (approx 1.5 hours drive) and Rome (approx 2.5 hours drive). It is essential to have a car, though you can also go on day trips eg to Florence by train from Arezzo.
