Location:
Civitella and the Arezzo region are ideal as a base for visiting the many historic towns and villages of this lovely part of Tuscany, and Umbria is an easy drive. The hills of Chianti are easily reached to the West and with the motorway junction only a few kilometres away Florence can be conveniently reached both by car and train. Rome itself is perfectly possible for a day trip with fast trains from Arezzo.
Restaurants:
There is a wide choice. There are two in Civitella (advisable to book in July/August). Lovely to sit in the piazza in the evening and look out over the valley. There are two in Monte San Savino of which one is mainly pasta & pizza, with others in Lucignano, Viciomaggio and Arezzo to name just a few. The piazza grande in Arezzo is a gorgeous setting in which to eat dinner. Further afield there are good restaurants in Cortona and Siena. The information folder in the property will have details of those which have been tried and can be recommended. You will not be short of choice!
Sports:
There are bases for horse riding and mountain biking close by, and tennis courts in the larger towns. Water sports and beaches are available at Lake Trasimeno. (see guest book). Golf - There appear to be several golf courses, the most convenient of which are 18 hole course at Grassina (south of Florence just off the autostrada) and at Chianciano Terme.
