Casa Fantone is a typical detached farmhouse, 300 years old, remodelled and updated with a wide private garden of 5 hectares and a private pool of 6 x 12 meters. The villa lies in a quiet hill near Poppi village, 30 km to Arezzo and 50 km to Florence, and it has a good level of furniture. The villa has modern kitchen and bathroom facilities, but it still gives one the feeling of stepping back in history.). The villa, made by stones, is exposed to the sun and it has a fantastic view on the Casentino valley. Absolute privacy and a maximum of security are guaranteed, also because the property is fenced in and the access is possible only through an automatic gate. A typical Tuscan terrace close to the kitchen can be an opportunity to have your breakfast or to drink a glass of Chianti with your friends looking down at the beautiful valley. In the terrace you will also discover an ancient baking oven which could hold at least 20 pizzas at a time. If only those walls could talk!

  • ATTENTION: rental rates allow you to rent all the first floor of the villa, that is: 4 bedrooms plus 2 bathrooms ( 8 + 2 people ).
    To rent the ground level bedroom with a bathroom ( 2 people ) Euro 200/week are necessary.
    Except July and August a DISCOUNT for little party: 5% in case of 4 people; 10% in case of 2 people.
  • All services are included in the price (electricity, hot water, gas, firewood, linen, towels, final cleaning, taxes, bicycles and all facilities) except the heating to be paid depending on consumption. Usually you have to send a deposit of 200 - 300 Euro depending on the total amount. Balance at your arrival or at the welcome breakfast (first Monday).
  • Booking procedure: You receive the contract form (Excel sheet) by email; you have to fill in the form and send it back by e-mail.

  • The villa has 4 bedrooms for 8 people at the first floor. But in one of them, the big bedroom (about 40 sq m), there are 2 other beds for a total of 10 people. At the ground level is available another bedroom, with a bathroom, for 2 people. This room is not included in the basic price. The 2 bedrooms with single beds can each be arranged as matrimonial rooms. Fitness facilities, hammocks, table tennis, table football and bicycles are available and free of charge. A little football field for children is also available. The same field can be utilized as a volley field and it is also available a table basket. The shower room is an external shower with hot and cold water. You can have your meals or drinks outside the villa using some specific tables. One of these is also protected against the sun. Other games for children are available. A garage is available for 1 car.

Low Cost Airport: There are two low cost airport no so far to Casa Fantone: PISA airport and FORLI airport. Pisa - Firenze not more than 30 minutes of driving through the Superstrada Firenze-Pisa-Livorno ( FI-PI-LI ) which arrives into the Pisa airport. Also Bologna airport is quite good.

Shops: The nearest villages are S. Martino and Quota, 2,5 km far from the villa, in which there are grocery shops and a bar. In Quota there is also a family restaurant. Supermarkets and any other kind of shop are in Ponte a Poppi, 5 km away. In Bibbiena, 8 km away, there is a wide and new commercial centre: 'COOP of Casentino'. There is also the Casentino valley hospital. Every day of the week there is an outdoor market in some of Casentino's villages. Tuesday is the Ponte a Poppi day for its open market. The fourth Saturday of each month, in Bibbiena, it’s possible to buy agricultural produce directly from the producer. Every first week end of the month in Arezzo there is an important fair of antiques. At the villa it is possible to buy little quantity of Casa Fantone olive oil and also Chianti wine. Two outlets are available: Foiano della Chiana outlet, Montevarchi outlet.

Hospitality and Privacy: The property is rented to only one party and only the people of this party live into the villa. The owner lives in a little village 2.5 km far from the house. He is satisfied of his work only if their guests have no problems: friendliness, a welcome basket with some local products as a bottle of Casa Fantone organic olive oil, a welcome breakfast introducing them Casentino valley and Tuscany. Any information and help are offered. The owner will care for everything that is necessary to allow Casa Fantone’s guests a good holiday. Houseguests can taste natural fruit and vegetables from the garden, when they are available. The villa offers you a great privacy. Some hecatares of garden, ( cypress, olive trees, apple trees, grape trees, flowers, grass, vegetable garden...), around the villa and pool is fenced in. You enter through an automatic gate enjoying freedom, silence and a beautiful place.

Golf: Located on a panoramic hill 5 km far from Casa Fantone villa, Golf Club Casentino offers: 9 holes, Driving Range, a beautiful view. Open all year long. It’s possible to rent Golf facilities. Office time table: every day 9 – 13 and 14 – 19. Telephone: 0039 0575 529810

Absolutely Fabulous !

Casa Fantone is a Tuscan jewel. The setting is beautiful, the house is immaculate and Gianfranco and his wife are warm, charming and helpful. Our group of six consisted of four adults and two children age eight and eleven. Everyone found something fun to do including a lot of pool time and a ping pong play off (be warned, the ping pong balls are easy to lose!). Day trips to Florence, Arrezo and Cortona were easy and there was the pool to cool of in when we got back! Gianfranco was available any time we needed help arranging a surprise birthday party in Quota or just making dinner reservations in Italian for us. The breakfast was so delicious. It was nice to have time to visit with our host and hostess. The restaurant in Quota we found to be quite charming. La Torricella and Casentino in Poppi were both more upscale and enjoyable as well. All in all we would highly recommend Casa Fantone to friends and family and are planning to return.

So great !!!! Ideal for friends or family !

The house and the pool are big and beautiful, and the view is superb ! The area is very quiet because there are no neighbors, so you can rest quietly.
The host is very nice and very attentive, everything is really perfect !

We were ten friends eating on the terrace each evening, making home made pizza, and we did midnight-bath each day ;-)
We went twice in Firenze and once in Arezzo to visit these beautiful cities.
The holidays were so great....

I recommend Casa Fantone that is ideal for holidays with friends or family, so do not hesitate, it is probably the best place to be between Firenze and Arezzo !

Casa Fantone : The perfect place to be!!!

This was our first stay in Casa Fantone and surely not the last! The two weeks (12 - 26 July 2008) were fantastic!
A great house in a perfect surrounding with a wonderful view and last but not least with a very kind host!!!
The welcome-breakfast at Gianfrancos house on the first Monday was very delicious - exactly like the fresh vegetables and fruits we often got from him!
The house and also the pool are in very good conditions.
Arround the house there´s very much space and a lot of things for the kids to do - like tabletennis, basketball, football etc.!
Because Casa Fantone is situated in the hills
(about 600 metres), the climate is nearly perfect! Warm days and not so hot nights - best premises for a recreative holiday!
The next little town (Poppi) is a very nice place and has some very good restaurants( Rossobirra ).

Thank You Gianfranco for this perfect stay!
