From it’s dominant position a relaxing panorama of valleys opens up, across to the village of Monterchi, where the famous fresco “Madonna del Parto” by Piero della Francesca is an important stop for any art lover. Within easy reach are the towns of Arezzo, Florence, Siena, Urbino, Assisi, Cortona and Perugia, which can be reached by dual carriageway or beautiful country roads. The property is built on three levels and set in 20 hectares of garden and land. It is ideal for exploring both Tuscany and Umbria. Palazzo Rosadi offers unique accommodation. Notes to the rental rates

• The rentals rates are based on 8 people sleeping.

  Children under 2 years on the date of arrival free of charge. There is a security- breakage deposit of 500 Euros (cash) to pay on arrival.
  
• Price includes a TYPICAL TUSCAN WELCOME PACK with first breakfast and basic, excursion to the Tiberina valley,two cots, once weekly maid service, once weekly towel change, once weekly bedding change, hot water, electricity (not for heating), two bikes, full use of facilities.
  
• Additional charges for: daily or weekly rate, phone/internet charges, central heating, extra maid service, babysitting, Italian cooking lessons, Italian language lessons, guided rides/walks for all levels.
  Guided tours by request. Dinners with the chef at 60 euro per person.

Things to do during your stay...

Music concerts: In July and August in Monterchi. In the gardens of the Madonna del Parto museum, every Wednesday night, Monterchi is host for music concerts. Covering Classical, Jazz and more. The events are free of charge and after the concerts a buffet is served. Fashion Outlets: Within an hour’s drive, you can find Italy’s top fashion labels, as well as designer labels from all over the world. Among the names are Prada, The Mall (an outlet covering many designer names), Gucci. For our guests, we have a special discount card. We also have a special agreement with other local select stores. These include Busatti (fine quality, hand made fabrics eg, linen, silk etc), Ciacci (jewellery, watches, collections, silver etc), Wine Tasting: We have a special agreement with a local “Enoteca”. You can try an assortment of local Tuscan and Umbrian wines, with salamis and cheeses. If you want to try lots of wine then we can take you and collect you afterwards. Discounts on any purchases!

Art & Culture

The Madonna del Parto is a fresco painting by the Italian Renaissance master Piero della Francesca, finished around 1460. It is housed in the cemetery chapel of Monterchi, Tuscany. Piero della Francesca finished it in seven days of work, using first-rate colours, including a large extent of blu oltremare obtained by lapis lazuli imported from Afghanistan by the Republic of Venice. The fresco was once located in Santa Maria di Momentana (once Santa Maria in Silvis), an old country church in the hilltown of Monterchi. The edifice was destroyed in 1785 by an earthquake and the work was detached and placed over the high altar of the new cemetery chapel. The work was attributed to Piero della Francesca only in 1889. Dating has been subject of debate, ranging from 1450 to 1475. The 16th century artist and writer Giorgio Vasari wrote it was completed in 1459, when Piero della Francesca was in Sansepolcro for his mother's death.

Golf There is a 9 hole course approx 15 minutes from the house, and a serious professional course only 45 minutes away - close to Perugia. Walking The villa is surrounded by stunning countryside, offering beautiful walks around it's land and the adjacent woods. There are simply miles of country paths and tracks. Guided walks are also available for all levels. The routes range from gentle strolls through to challenging climbs, and they all offer fantastic panoramic views and the chance to get back to nature. Walkers have often reported seeing wild boar, deer as well as a whole variety of birds. The woods are also full of porcini mushrooms, chestnuts and truffles (for those that know how to find them). Cycling With the famous hills of Tuscany, you can pick a gentle ride down into the village of Monterchi , or a full blooded Mountain Bike ride through the woods.
