It stands in the largest cypress-grove in Europe, surrounded by the typical hilly landscape which makes for a feeling of peace and tranquillity. During the day and throughout all seasons, guests can admire a continuous colour variation of the landscape. Antico Podere Marciano is 400 mt above sea level and from there you can enjpy a unique view on the Val d'Elsa area and S. Gimignano.The welcoming atmosphere of our finely restored ancient rural house, together with skilfully prepared local dishes, will make your stay unforgettable. Considering the dimensions and the internal layout of the villa, Antico Podere Marciano is ideal for groups or families that want to spend their holiday in a self-catering villa. Owners live 20 mt form the main building and share the pool with the guests

From North: Motorway A1, exit Firenze Certosa, Motorway Firenze-Siena, exit S. Donato in Poggio, turn left and follow indications to Castellina in Chianti, drive for 8-9 kms; you will find indication to Marciano 3,2 on the right-hand side. Drive on that white road for about 1,5 km, then turn right again (you will see another indication to Marciano), drive for another 1,5 km. ca. and you will arrive at Antico Podere Marciano. From South: Motorway A1, exit Valdichiana, drive direction Siena and then take the motorway Siena-Firenze. Exit Poggibonsi. Follow indications to Castellina in Chianti. Drive for about 10 kms. Behind a curve, you will find, on your left-hand side indication to Marciano 1,6 km, drive on that steep little road and turn left following indications to Marciano where the white road starts. Drive for about 1, 5 kms and you will arrive at Antico Podere Marciano.

All bathrooms were restored using special materials and the walls have been treated by specialists with a particular technique which was already in use by the Romans in ancient history. All bathrooms are furnished with a marble table with integrated basin . Some have shower enclosure, some others have an old style bathtub.

  • ROOMS AND FURNISHING: Antico Podere Marciano has standard and superior double rooms. Superior rooms have a small private garden or terrace, some also have an independent entrance. The restoration work and interior design project were entrusted to interior designer, Julia Scartozzoni, who carefully selected suggestive colors, styles and décor to fill the rural house with a refined yet comfortable atmosphere. All materials used to restore the building, as well as those chosen to furnish both the inside and the outside of the house, are the highest quality available. The rooms are furnished with double beds with wrought iron bed frame (some are canopied double beds), antique wardrobe or wall closet, and small lounge area with sofa bed or armchair. Main color schemes: beige, antique rose pink, and sand. All curtains were painted by hand and go perfectly well with the quilts patterns.

TV (CNN, ZDF), telephone in each room, fully equipped professional kitchen, professional espresso and cappuccino machine at the bar, toaster, electric kettle, BBQ, loggia with table and chair to have meals outside. The pool is stone-built and it measures 16X8 meters. Screens and air conditioned in all rooms. The daily maid service is included in the price and it consists in 2 hours each day, to clean the common areas (except on Sunday) and 3 hours on Wednesday (linen and towels change). Under request:breakfast service, dinners, pre-arrival shopping, extra cleaning services. Laundry service We can plan taylor-made wine -tours, cooking classes, excursions, etc..
