The accommodation is situated in the heart of the beautiful Appennino mountain village of Corfino, with a breathtaking view of the lush valley below and the Apuane Mountains beyond. The village, which is on the edge of Oriechiella National Park, is one of the most popular in the region. The accommodations are in an old and completely restored house dating back to 700AD. This is an ideal accommodation for someone looking for value, you will not find a better value in Europe. If you like to hike, bike, walk, breathe fresh air, bask in lush green peaceful unspoiled surroundings this is the place for you. If you like to shop but don't like the noise and commotion of the bigger towns or cities this is perfect. Lucca and Firenze which are a short drive away have some of the best shopping in Italy. This unit has wood trimmed ceilings and is very quaint and quiet. The view will take your breath away. Don't let the low price fool you this and all the other units we have are newly remodelled and should cost much more but we have opted to keep prices low to attract more clients. Corfino sits atop the spectacular Garfagnana region of Tuscany famous for it's food and wine. You will be close to Firenze, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, San Gemigniano, the Italian Riviera and Modena, all less than 2 hours by car. Snow skiing is also nearby. Corfino has breathtaking views of the Garfagnana valley as it is perched on a natural terrace for the region. The country-side is lush and unspoiled with fresh air, sparkling clean water, low humidity and views unmatched in Italy. The beautiful countryside is famous for its Majestic woods, bicycling and extensive well-marked hiking trails of every skill level, all around the Parco Nazionale del Orecchiella. The town of Corfino is a well preserved medieval town dating back to 700 A.D. The town has a population of 600 and has hotels, restaurants, grocery stores, Bank-ATM, a bakery and a pub. It also has beautiful churches. If you are looking for Italy unspoiled, then this is the Place for you.

We stayed for a week in April 2008 and really had a nice time. The flat has a beautiful view across the valley and local shops are very close. There's plenty of room in the flat for a couple and perfectly situated if you like walking the hills.
The gas costs which are extra added quite a bit to the cost at the end of the stay.
Owner's Response: . Great guests! I am sorry for the extra expense for heating the apartment. The heating is totally bases on consumption and in the cold months the extra costs range from 20 to 100 euros per week, depending on how much the heat is left on in the apartment. One of the biggest downsides to living in Corfino is that we use propane gas, which is transported into the village by truck, and it is very expensive compared with normal city gas. We are careful to take accurate meter readings at the beginning and at the end of our guest’s stays, in order to be absolutely fair with extra gas charges.

Excellent, no other words for it

General:
We are a young norwegian coulple who lived there for a week in the summer of 2008. It was excellent, no other word for it. The appartment was large, clean and with the best view in all of Tuscany. It is really breathtaking. It is situated an hours drive from Lucca, Pisa, La Spezia and Modena which makes it an excellent base for your journeys as long as you have an rental car.

The location:
Other things we can mention is that the apartment is located three stories above the towns' market/town center. There are two shops within a few footsteps, for your every day needs. If you miss the opportunity to sunbathe and take a swim you can ask the staff at the Hotel and mention that you stay at one of Olivas' apartments and you'll given access. We did, and it worked like a charm.

The people:
The Corfinians are a lovely, they greet you with "Bon Giorno" and "Chiao" and are very helpfull with everything. The host is very sweet, the people in the grocery shop in the town center are how you would want them to be in you local store.Very old fashioned and very friendly. In the evening the Corfinians flock to the town center to discuss, drink som drinks and chat were you can join and get some new italian friends.


We strongly recomend the apartment, the town and the people.

And yes, we are coming back.

first of all the customer service with lorenzo via email and then with his relatives in person was perfect.
the description was accurate although it was even better in person.
the apartment was spacious,full of light and in an excellent location in corfino,an enchanting little town in the mountains.
food shopping was convenient and there was an excellent restaurant in the hotel california that oliva recommended.we went there several times.the location is very good for exploring the area.
the view from the 2 balconies took my breath away.
in fact we are going back in september and next summer,too.
i miss it already.
