This place is beautiful, highly recommended

We stayed here August 2008 for one week: the first time we have done this type of holiday. With three children under 5, we ended up on the sofa bed in the living room, which is the one and only uncomfortable aspect of Lino we wouldn't recommend. The stair gate at the top of the stairs was a welcome addition. The property is beautifully maintained, very clean, with a kitchen that includes toaster, coffee maker, cheese grater, that sort of thing. The owner and person we booked through could not have been more helpful. They found us a babysitter, and responded so helpfully when our son lost his teddy bear and we needed an Italian speaker to make a phonecall for us. We really felt as though we had an expert on hand if we needed anything at all.
We could never get tired of seeing that amazing view from the clean, perfect pool. Plenty of sun loungers around the pool meant plenty of space to watch the little goats wandering around the garden, loads of fun for kids. The place is surrounded by impossibly beautiful villages in the hills, real picture postcard stuff. You need a car to get around, and the Italians do drive down the middle of the road at you at 60 miles an hour round hairpin bends, but you get used to it. By a good road map, signposts can be somewhat ambiguous compared to UK ones! The amazing views all around this area make it well worth the effort though.
The next door neighbours who are on hand with the key and the Tuscan meal are out of this world. They brought us fresh eggs, beans and potatoes, and even without any english, helped us with a whole range of things, always with a smile. Can't recommend the traditional Tuscan meal they cooked highly enough, it will be the best you have on holiday, although we ate very well everywhere we went.
The information pack from the owners is spot on. We visited a restaurant they reccomended without planning to, and it was a lovely place. All the places that we went to were brilliant, far too many to do in a week, we will be back! Grotta del Vento, Verrucole at San Romano are cheap or free and completely spectacular. It took us an hour 5mins to drive to Lucca from here.
I would only hesitate to recommend this property to anyone, friends included, because I would fear it would become booked out when we want to go back again :)
