A wonderful, secluded newly renovated site comprising of four units. Two of the units can be interconnecting if required. All four properties have been finished to a high standard and are very comfortably furnished, and each has its own facilities and personal eating area, BBQ etc but there is room for all to eat together too. There are beamed ceilings and traditional flooring throughout and three of the bathrooms have tubs - ideal for the romantic, or those with small children. Also for romantics, one of the double rooms in each of the apartments has a personal terrace with beautiful views - perfect for breakfast, reading, or pre dinner drinks away from the rest of the group. The pool of 12M x 6M overlooking the hills is perfect for large groups and there is a Jacuzzi style pool too which is 2M in diameter.

The property boasts 3 high quality and romantic bedrooms, one of which has a personal terrace with fantastic views and the other of which leads to private area..... The 2 bathrooms are very good quality and one boasts a bathtub. There is a good size living/diner with plenty of comfy seating and fireplace along with a large well equipped kitchen with fireplace and table... Outside there is a personal eating area and BBQ Shared facilities include laundry room, extensive grounds with infinity style roman stepped pool, further jacuzzi style pool, children's play area, relaxing area with hammock, internet point .....

Location: San Romano in Garfagnana in Italy

The location is 10 minutes north of the market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana with its famous Thursday morning market, numerous bars & restaurants. Closer to home, the village of Viiletta a 15 min walk away and has a restaurant, bar and shop. The train station is a 5/10 minute walk. Also by foot, it is possible to walk down to the river in only 5 minutes, and a shaded cross country walk of 30 mins will take guests to a local lake (which also has a couple of bars and a children's playground). There is also an ancient beautiful and well photographed peaceful village (with no facilities) reachable by a 1km walk cross country. The Golf Course of Garfagnana is only a 5 min drive. Lucca - is an hour or so, Pisa 90 mins, Florence 1 hr 40 mins: Barga 25 mins....The National Parks of the Garfagnana, and the local ancient fortress (great for picnics!) are only a short drive away and there are numerous hilltop villages to visit very locally.... A rural but 'handy' retreat.

L'Arco was simply fantastic. We wanted a special family holiday in Tuscany and searched hard for a suitable destination and this was better than we ever imagined. We felt comfortable as soon as we arrived . The accomodation is spacious and very well looked after and its position on the valley side above the river is wonderful.The childrens favourite was the pool and Jacuzzi and the lovely meadow walks close by looking at the wildlife. The atmosphere was truly rural Tuscany ,the local people are so friendly and helpful and the fresh produce available made some wonderful meals . Eating out is an experience also - the food is fantastic everywhere - always served with pride by the rstauranteurs. The scenery is stunning - you are surrounded by hills and mountains rich in wildlife. You will not be disappointed - this is a very special holiday destination.

This is a fantastic holiday location for both adults and children and our visit this year was for the second summer in succession.
Claudida and Alessia were both very friendly and helpful and the property, pool and surrounds are very well maintained.
We have recommended this property to our friends and they also joined us for this years holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it!
The local shop/resturant/bar "Il Grotto" was very useful and the food served in the resturant was of an excellent standard. We would also highly recommend a visit to the town of Lucca, as well as local caves and the nearby national park.
Overall a great holiday home in a great location.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

stunning views and friendly people

Beautiful location, very friendly and helpful owners. It is a shame that L'arco is a downstairs property. The noise from the property above, because it has wooden floors, was a big draw back. I would recomend renting here, but one of the other properties - the others are all upstairs! There isn't much to do in the area unless you are into hiking and adventures, but the area is stunning. It would have been better if my kids had been a little older (they are 21 months and 3 1/2) but we had a great time anyway.

Oh, and you can walk to the local village and shops, but the road seemed too dangerous to do it - don't book if you are counting on walking to the village. That said, it has so much going for it you might not mind.
