Villa in Tuscany with Pool

Set in one hectare the property has spectacular views of the Garfagnana valley. The house is set on the site of 3 ancient chestnut mills. One of which has been restored to make an independent house. A river runs through the property, forming a small natural waterfall and there is also a small lake in the vast garden. The house is five minutes from the local village shop, 10 minutes from the historic town of Catelnuovo di Garfagnana 1 hour from Lucca, 1 hour 30 minutes from Pisa, 2 hours from Florence and one hour from the sea. Il Mulino is a quiet villa overlooking the Garfagnana Valley, it is in the village of Silicano. The population is only a few hundred but is a lively village with a local shop which is the centre of the village and a great place to by fresh bread fruit vegetables etc and is generally very well stocked. As it is used mainly by the locals it is a great place to be part of village life and practice your Italian. Silicano is 10-15 minutes from the old walled town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. It is a traditional Italian town not spoilt by tourists, with a local market on Thursdays, many bars and cafes in true Italian style and many organised events during the summer months. There are many shops and restaurants in the town. The town of Lucca is only 45 minutes to one hour away by car. Pisa one and a half hours and Florence 2 hours

The main villa is divided into 2 separate parts Mulino Garden side and Mulino Valley side. Mulino Garden side, has 3 bedrooms 2 twins a double and if needed a single room, and one bathroom. Mulino Valley side has three bedrooms , 1 twin, one double , and a single and one bathroom. Each house has sitting room and breakfast terrace. There is a staircase from each each side into the shared kitchen and internal dining area, Leading off from the internal dining area there is a beautiful terraced pergola dining area, for al fresco meals. This loggia looks onto the swimming pool which has a jacuzzi and sun terraces. Off the dining area there is a shower room with a massage shower and toilet. The Mulino Vechio, ,is a very quiet romantic renovated rustic mill house, which retains all of its old character. It has a sitting room small double bedroom and a shower room. There is a large sports area in the garden for football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis table football

Sept 22 2003 -Thank you for an absolutely fantastic week. All of our expectations have been exceeded. We felt there was no need to leave the villa for our perfect break. We’re leaving relaxed refreshed, tanned and feeling fabulous about the world! Another huge thank you for all your help and information and availability to cater to all of our needs. You can simply live here for as long as you desire without needing anything except shopping for food. The scenery and the view are outstanding. We all enjoyed it a great deal and we are coming back and will definitely recommend it .

July 2005 We have been looking forward to these 2 weeks for a year and they did not disappoint! What a wonderful house ,pool and setting -the kids have had the time of their lives, whether swimming DVDs or toys and games. Look out for all the wildlife especially the fireflies and the friends in the pool! Aug 2005 A truly stunning property, cannot fault this house it has provided us with a fabulous 2 weeks, pool is gorgeous. Aug 2005 A wonderful villa in a stunning position. Everything you need is here - certainly kept our clan busy for 2 weeks. Thank you for providing everything - a real ¨home from home¨. Aug 2006 Thank you so much for the fab 2 weeks. Never before have we stayed in a house so well equipped . Aug/Sept 2006 We didnt venture out much except to Lucca and Pisa. Preferred Lucca -less touristy and just as much to see and you can hire bikes. Take the train from Castelnuovo to Lucca. The village above the house is worth the walk to just for the view July

July 2007. Another wonderful week in Il Mulino. It is difficult to tear ourselves away from this idyllic spot. Thee house is comfortable and well equipped.
