This beautifully renovated private, detached stone cottage with private infinity style pool, & covered luxury heated spa, for 6 to 8 people is located on the foothills of the Appenines, and has a vista is over the Serchio valley with the Apuane Alps beyond. The house boasts beamed ceilings, traditional flooring, and wonderful restored furniture .The cottage retains its original fireplaces and plenty of other features, and has been painted in traditional Tuscan colours giving a warm peaceful feel to the interior. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (one with tub as well as shower), spacious living room, dining room, and well equipped kitchen. The garden is electronically gated & consists of various terraces and vineyards with wonderful views. The house is located within walking distance of an excellent restaurant, but for those evenings when you wish to stay at home, we can arrange for a personal chef. A tranquil location with easy access, village close by and town only a 5 min drive!

Despite the peaceful country location just 20 mins by car from the Appenine peaks, the house is situated 1 hour north of Lucca, and only 1.5km from the large village of Pieve Fosciana. This village boasts all amenities, including what is considered by many, to be the best restaurant in the area, a wonderful delicatessen shop and many other shops, banks, and bars. 5 minutes in the car, is the market town of Castelnuovo with its famous Thursday morning market, shops, bars, restaurants and train station for easy exploring. Hill top villages abound for relaxing days exploring locally, and the Apuane peaks are only a 20 min drive away too. For townie days, there is the medieval town of Barga - 20 mins; Lucca 1 hr; Florence 1 hr 40 mins; Pisa 90 mins. Airports: Pisa 90 mins; Genoa, 2.5 hrs; Florence 1 hr 45 mins; Milan 3.25 hrs; Bologna 2.45 hrs.

On the left of hall is dining room, double aspect, original fireplace, leading into traditional kitchen. 2nd hallway, leads outside to original wood burning oven -get the chef to make pizzas! Bedroom with bunk beds. Ground floor shower room. Upstairs: Large landing with comfy seating, & double doors leading to terrace which spans the entire front of the house: Master bedroom with en-suite shower room, & double doors leading to terrace. Further double bedroom; Twin room; Family bathroom with both bath & separate shower. Outside: Covered luxury heated spa for 6 to 8 - music, lighting massage... Electronically controlled entrance gate & parking, wood burning oven, large garden with pretty infinity style pool of 13M x 4M overlooking the vines, & mountains, BBQ, eating terrace beside house.

The location of the house is perfect for exploring the hilltop villages but a car is a must. The pool and hot tube were fantastic. The house has everything you would need, it was clean and well-maintained. A lot of ants in the kitchen but you would expect that in the mountains. Just don't leave food lying around.
The house is very comfortable and a good layout. except for the extra fold out bed for the eight person staying, was put up in the sitting room. Which would mean you are losing the use of the sitting room as a room to lounge if it's someone's bedroom. So had to make that bed up on the landing. It is a house for 7 persons and no more.
The owner was very helpful on arrival. Gave us plenty of information about the area. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend.
There is a great adventure park called buffalo near by. The local restaurant 'Il posso' is super. The market in san romano is far better than the market in castlenuovo.
Garden and pool perfect for older children but not for very young children. Sloping edges all around the garden could be dangerous for small children. We all had a great holiday in 'elisabetta'.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers
