The beautiful, peaceful hillside hamlet of Peralta, with medieval origins, was restored over a period of thirty years with love and imagination by international sculptor Fiore de Henriquez. She created a place that is quite unique. Its commanding position gives Peralta stunning panoramic views over the valley to the sea beyond. Terraces of olive groves, orange and lemon trees, bougainvilleas, jasmine covering the stone walls makes the hamlet seem like paradise - great for a romantic holiday . SLEEPS 2 or 4 You enter this cosy little apartment from its terrace. The comfortable living room has a fantastic view over the valley, as does the double bedroom (which has an ensuite bathroom with shower). The double bed can also be made up as twins. Both rooms open up onto the terrace, which is sheltered by olive groves. The little kitchen has a gas hob and oven, fridge, sink and is well equipped with cooking utensils. The whole atmosphere is quite delightful. There is a separate bedroom and bathroom which can be added if you are 3 or 4 people (choice of twin or double beds). Please ask for price of this additional bedroom. As well as being ideal in the summer months, the apartment also makes a wonderful winter retreat, with a cosy wood-burning stove. • This apartment is very snug in the winter with wood burning stove in fireplace and additional heaters. Heating is included in cost.
  
• If you are a party of 4 people, you can take one of our bedrooms (twin or double) with ensuite bathroom as an addition to the Gemelli apartment. The living space, terrace for eating etc is large enough for four people.

Peralta has 6 self catering houses and apartments of which 3 are described here. The others can be viewed on properties 1597 (sleeps 8), 2145 (sleeps 5/7) and 1596 (sleeps 2) We also have five bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. A swimming pool (8mx3m) is on one of the upper terraces, where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the fantastic view. Peralta has a bar & large terrace where guests have the opportunity of meeting each other and where they can enjoy the view and the beautiful sunsets. It is a wonderful spot for walkers, especially in autumn and spring. The hills are covered with chestnut trees, olive groves, wild flowers, and there are numerous trails, one of which takes you to a charming bar/restaurant about an hour round the hill. Walkers with lots of energy can get to the top of Mount Prana (approx. 1000m.) **Peralta is very convenient for the Puccini opera festival held at Torre del Lago each August (30/40 mins away). Peralta offers the ideal, inspiring setting for creative people: painting, sculpting, writing. As well as just simply relaxing and enjoying the pool. We can arrange for group or individual painting lessons with an artist who lives nearby. A studio for sculpture is available. Writers can settle in and write in peace, knowing that simple daily needs are catered for. Shopping can be done, etc. We have wonderful walks through chestnut trees and olive groves. As well as enjoying the unique surroundings of Peralta itself, everyone also appreciates the delicious food and wine served in the many excellent, inexpensive local restaurants. Peralta is ideal for playing host to a conference/workshop/retreat. We have hosted many a family party and friends who wish to get together for any number of reasons, find Peralta the idea location. Access

Airports: Pisa 45 mins - Florence 1 hr. Genoa 1 hr.40mins - Bologna 2hrs. From the A11 and A12 motorway exit, Viareggio/Camaiore, you head for 'Viareggio, Lido di Camaiore'. Then for 'Camaiore'. From Camaiore, there is a little road that leaves the valley and winds its way up the hill to Pieve di Camaiore, then to Peralta. (We give detailed directions). Note: The last 200 or so yards of our road are very steep and narrow with 2 hairpin bends. A smallish car is recommended, although an Espace & other large cars can make it!! This last bit of road is unsuitable for nervous drivers. The road comes to an end in our carpark. From there you walk to Peralta itself (about 200 yards/meters) and we can help with luggage (9am to 6pm). . Don't be put off by the last piece of road - Peralta more than merits the effort! And if you are in a very large car, you can always park it below the hairpin bends. Only a short walk up to the carpark.
