Two small holiday apartments on the hills near the beautiful medieval town of Lucca, 15 km away from the sea and the renovated Versilia coast. Panoramic and quiet position among olive trees, splendid view over the Apuan Alps and Pisa, swimming pool. The 2 Apartments are GINESTRA (sq.m.85, with garden on three sides) and GLICINE (sq.m.55, with a relaxing panoramic porch). They are completely new, independent and fully furnished. Chiatri, the nearest village, is a little quiet burgh on the hills between Lucca and the Versilia coast with its long and crowded sandy beaches. The Versilia is famous in all Italy and abroad for its sprightly nightlife and its numerous discos. If you come to Residence Prato Verde, on the contrary, you can experience peace and relax. You will be immersed in olive groves and woods and you will find paths that are ideal for walks and mountain biking activities. As you certainly know, Chiatri was also Giacomo Puccini’s first summer residence. Puccini, the famous Italian composer, lived in Torre del Lago and came here to hunt and refresh himself during the hot summer periods. You can still visit his home. Moreover, if you are interested in art, culture and medieval towns, Lucca, at about 20 minutes from here, is one of the most beautiful towns in Italy. It is surrounded by well-preserved city walls on which no cars are allowed, and has myriad little lanes with modern shops.

Beautiful apartment in Lucca

I have just returned from a week spent with my husband staying in the 'Glicine' apartment. The photos cannot fully describe the beauty of this place - set high up with 360 degree scenery all around, and not another building in sight. Mara and family showed us fantastic hospitality, and the apartment was a fantastic size, had everything you could need provided and was clean and well-maintained. The location was just perfect, and with two terraces to admire the marvellous views, we were more than happy.

The restaurant on-site was lovely, and extremely reasonably-priced. The nearest supermarket is only a few minutes drive away; a few minutes more and you're in Lucca itself. Lucca is a gorgeous city and nearby areas such as Barga, Florence and Viarregio are well worth visiting as well.

I would recommend this apartment to family and friends, and would love the opportunity to return myself!

Glicine Apartment

We stayed at the Glicine apartment and were very impressed by the whole experience. The apartment is very self contained and could be classed as a small villa as the apartments sit into the hillside therefore you have complete privacy. It was well equipped with dishwasher and a lovely bathroom and two beautiful terraces with plenty of loungers and seating outside. The pool area was lovely and our children really enjoyed playing around the pool and the little park. There is a handy restaurant on site and they will give you a "takeaway" as well.
The properties are very secluded with stunning mountain views - be prepared for the 2km climb up the mountain in the car but the views are well worth it and we didn't feel isolated because of the other apartments and the restaurant.
Plenty to do in the area and we liked wandering in Viaraggio at night. Pisa is 20 min drive and Lucca is just a few miles along the road with plenty of supermarkets etc.
We would not hesitate in returning to this accommodation and this part of Tuscany.
