This elegant apartment is at the ‘’Noble Floor’’ (first floor) of an ancient ‘Palazzo Lucchese’ (Lucchese building). It is located in the medieval part of the walled town of Lucca. It takes name from the family Guinigi, who built it in the 1400s. The family Guinigi ruled Lucca in the far XV Century, and their memory still lives in Lucca also thanks to the very famous Tower-House, one of the most famous symbols of Lucca and Tuscany, that is located just in front of this house. The entire ‘Palazzo’ is under strict control of the Monuments and Fine Arts Office, who consider the Palazzo one of the Italian monuments worthy to be preserved. The flat is reachable via a huge hall, an elegant original staircase or by elevator. It is approx. 200 sqm large, but it looks much bigger because of its high original beamed ceiling (over 5 mt high).

A walk through the centre of Lucca becomes an exciting voyage through the centuries, through history. Apart from the significant monuments, such as the sixteenth-seventeenth century walls, Lucca stands out for its atmosphere and lively centre. Thanks to its northern location in Tuscany the beautiful beaches of Viareggio and the renovated 5 Terre are very easily reachable, by train or by car.

The recent renovation has brought to the light: The original colour of the decoration of the old beamed ceiling, a real masterpiece of this flat! The kitchen is equipped of the most modern facilities, i.e. freezer, refrigerator, ovens, 4 stoves, dishwasher and microwave. After the entrance hall there is a passageway from where there is access to the 2 bedrooms, and then to the huge salon, with fireplace and to the dining area and the kitchen. A bathroom with tub and shower is reachable from this salon. A stair goes down to a pretty studio. The two double bedrooms, one master and one queen, are very lightly and airy. The view from the windows is really beautiful: the narrow typical street and the medieval Palazzos. This area is a very quiet and peaceful area, with very limited traffic.

Special car rental rates with the possibility of : pickup at the airport and drive to the property. Excursion to our own Winery in the Chianti area producing excellent wines with visit to the vineyards, the wine cellar and final wine-tastings with the owners. Possibility of guided tours of the town of Lucca, its villas, and special tours in the countryside. Possibility to play golf in four courses at a distance of 25 up to 40 min. drive. Chauffeur with a 8 seats bus available for special tours in the region Access to a private beach club on request Special Tuscan meals prepared by our cook upon your arrival and/or during the week Individual sailboat tours to discover the ' Cinque Terre'.

We have rented apartments in several countries and enjoyed this one greatly. It is both historical and comfortable. Incredibly high ceilings add to the spacious feeling. While there is an elevator to the apartment, we found the stairs very manageable. The kitchen is smaller, but was more than adequate for us to prepare meals for four people. The modern bath with shower and tub was very nice. The location is super.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

Best appartement in Lucca ?

Dario on the ball, good to deal with.
Attention to detail poor, No microwave, as in the discription, No kettle, crockery and glasses poor standard, oven dirty, sheets very old and grubby, bidet did not work.
On the first day having walked about the apartement for couple of hour, we could not believe how dirty the bottom of our feet where.
Suggest get a new cleaner who cleans, spend a little on improving the sheets, crockery, glasses etc,and this could be one of the best appartements in Lucca.
Location is great, fantastic quality local restaurant,Gli Orti Di Via Elisa, and call in to the wine bar you will pass, just off the square, very friendly, great little appetizers with your wine.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Romantic Getaway

We had preferred to have been called upon your arrival at the flat to double check with you the cleanness, and all the matters of your complaints. A beautiful apartment in the heart of Lucca; easy access to walk the wall and to stroll the streets of town; easy access to delightful small towns of Tuscany if you have a car or fairly easy to major places by train or bus. Kitchen is not well equipped to do your own cooking and the mattresses are hard but good. One bed is actually a convertible sofa but quite comfortable. There is only one comfortable love seat for two to relax; difficult for relaxing if you are more than two. Bring your own soap for the bathroom; none provided. No heat until Oct. 15 so it can be very cold. Wear layers! We loved our stay.

Owner's Response: As it is seeable from the new pictures, our apartment has been completely refurnished: one of the two bedrooms has now a beautiful 'empire' bed, the other one had already a good double bed. In the salon there are now 3 sofas seating up to 6 people comfortably. Mattresses have been changed in more comfortable ones, and the kitchen is now very well equipped with all the kind of kitchen utensils.
There is also soap in the bathroom.

We have really to thank you our previous tenants to have given us the opportunity with their review to improve the quality of our place.
