MONTIGIANO
From the sagrato one of the church a beautiful st panorama is enjoyed: a sea of ulivi plants to you in far age from the monksi of the Jura. Known Montigiano is a lot from the foreigners for the beauties of its places, from the peace of which it is it encircles to you and from the mild climate that generally does not know cold winters. In the fraction Pieve a Elici the famous church of S. Pantaleone, a monument sublime is found to look at itself from the outside for its magnificent whitish size and snello the bell tower. Visiting the church We find works important as I fresco it della” Madonna with bambino” of XIII the century, the sacre-cross between of XVI the century and the marmoreo polittico of XV the century. The adjacent bell tower has been obtained from one preexistence defensive structure. In the months of July and August the musical and concert season is carried out, prestigious festival of chamber music (arches, violins, piano and flutes).
VERSILIA
Sea, mountains, hills, endless sandy beaches and rich Mediterranean vegetation. Very few other places are capable of offering such a variety of environments within a relatively limited space. This explain perfectly the undisputed charm of Versilia in everyone's imagination as one of the most attractive holiday destination, symbol of fun and lightheartedness, but also culture, nature and glamour. Lying along the coastal shore of Tuscany, in the province of Lucca, Versilia is one of the most fascinating area of the entire Region. A unique territory, it includes seven municipalities i.e. Viareggio, Pietrasanta, Camaiore, Forte dei Marmi, Massarosa, Stazzema and Seravezza. The area offers a diversified natural environment, combined with a remarkable artistic and architectural heritage, reminiscent of a rich historical a and cultural past In summer or in winter, thanks to its many historical and environmental destinations and to a particularly mild climate.
MASSAROSA
Massarosa, mostly famous for its splendid natural environment surrounded by sixteen districts, which are equally divided between lowland and hillside. Renowned nucleus since the Prehistoric Age, Massarosa has become more important during the Roman empire and traces of the ancient Roman Thermal baths of Massaciuccoli can be still seen today. Under the hegemony of the Republic of Lucca from the XIV until the XVI century, Massarosa lived a period of florid wealth. Between the XIV century and the XVII century numerous elegant villas - twenty-seven in total -were built not only for the nobles but also for rich merchants of the area. The most famous of these villas is undoubtedly Villa Baldini in Compignano, where Paolina Bonaparte lived. Still today, the route of the villas in Massarosa and the Lucchesia represents one of the greatest attractions in the entire district. Not less important, finally is the gastronomic culture of the territory that can be found in the many town festivals.
Skiing Information:
Abetone (mt 1388 ASL) derives its name from a huge fir, so great that it can not even be embraced by six people with outstretched arms, which was demolished to make way for the eighteenth road Modenese. Before then, the town was known as Boscolungo name today identifies a fraction of the municipal district (mt 1378 asl). If the history of the first inhabited dell'Abetone is closely linked to each other via the Modenese, the Apennine ridges around since ancient times were affected by major roads link. They are in fact known at least since Roman itineraries transappenninici that traverse mountains of Pistoia, connecting the north and south of the peninsula: it seems that Hannibal has used these ways to get in Etruria. Although we do not know the exact pass chosen by the Carthaginian leader, a tradition identify with the local high Val di Luce (mt 1512 asl), northwest dell'Abetone, where it is located, m. 1798 quota, so-called Step of Hannibal.
Golf Information:
Versilia Golf Resort, Forte dei Marmi, Tuscany. A few words that sum up a whole world. The golf club that here, in this charming area suspended between the Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Designed by Marco Croze, it was inaugurated in 1990: its 18 holes (par 71, 5873 metres, course rating for men 71,7, slope rating 123) unfold in splendid countryside, among bunkers and water hazards.

We stayed in Bellavista for a week in July 08 and I would thoroughly recommend it as a place to relax, unwind and enjoy the spectacular location while the kids swim in the pool or play table tennis. Our kids are 10 and 13 and it was perfect for them - they loved it.
The accommodation was just as it was described on the website and we were very happy with all the facilities and furnishings - we couldn't have asked for more. The owner, whose English is fantastic, also lives in the grounds but you never see her unless you want to - you have total privacy but it is very nice to know she is there if you need her. She is extremely pleasant and helpful.
The house is fairly high up the mountain and I must admit our first journey up there was pretty scary as the roads are so narrow and the drivers are mad! But the higher you go up the mountain the fewer cars you meet and we never had a problem. Don't take a big car up there though - we hired a Ford Focus and I wouldn't have liked to drive anything much bigger up those roads! The more we drove up and down the mountain the more we got used to it.
The house is very "away from it all" but that is what we wanted and we knew that when we booked it. The views are absolutely stunning, the pool was perfect for our kids and they loved the table tennis! Massarosa is your nearest town and you can see it directly below you at the foot of the mountain but it is about a 4km drive down the twisty mountain road. It has a few shops, restaurants and a couple of nice coffee shops but theres not that much to it really. It does have an excellent supermarket and we were very happy to stock up there and cook/bbq at the house most evenings, sit out on the terrace with a bottle of wine, take in the views and listen to the music drifting up the mountain from the town below! We had already done lots of sightseeing in Pisa, Lucca and Florence before we went to Bellavista so we were happy just to chill out during our week there but we did go into Viareggio one day and it is a big, bustling, touristy seaside resort so if you want that kind of holiday it is there for you too.
In summary, I wouldn't particularly recommend Bellavista to you if you want a lively, touristy, partying time. If however you want a relaxing break where you can experience "real Italy" in absolutely beautiful surroundings then this is the place to go! We loved it and I would highly recommend it!
Owner's response:
I think that whenever you meet new people you have a good opportunity to improve yourself. So when my family and I have some new guests at the villa we consider it an occasion to become better and better in our hospitality. Thank you so much for you review.
