Le Macine is a rare find. Located in the breathtaking landscape, on the rolling hills of the well-known Compitese. Le Macine has been completely restored in spring-summer 2008 in a very elegant layout, according to the building which was a small oil mill, the typical red Tuscan brick building that made this area famous all over the world for its extra virgin olive oil.

The house was beautiful, well maintained and the owners very helpful. We had a family holiday with ages ranging from 15 - 68 and all I can say is that the location was great, easy to access Lucca approx 15 mins away with lovely restraunts. We went to Florence on the train which again was a great day out, went to Barga in the mountains and the beach at Viarregio. Even relaxing in the beautiful garden was treat. All in all a great holiday.
