This stylish and spacious villa and charming lodge Il Granaio, have been recently restored to a high standard using original materials (terracotta floors, chestnut beamed ceilings, and local Carrara marble in all bathrooms and kitchen). A Chele has 7 king-sized double bedrooms all ensuite, large professional kitchen with demonstration island with opening onto garden terrace for al fresco dining, formal dining room seating for 20, downstairs lounge with fireplace and French windows to loggia. Fully equipped laundry, separate downstairs WC. Elegant drawing room on first floor with panoramic views, further lounge area with satellite TV and DVD, separate WC, 2 bedrooms. Our villa lies in a secluded highly sought after hillside in a conservation area. Located close to the village of San Macario in Piano with a local village store, baker and butcher 2km. The nearest supermarket is 8km away. There are many restaurants nearby ranging from trattorias to michelin starred restaurants The beautiful historic city of Lucca, only a distance of 10km, is a medieval walled city of great charm, historical interest, and culture, the birthplace of Puccini. The open air Puccini Opera festival is held in July and August at Torre dei Lago a distance of 20km. The Versilian Coast, with its long sweeping sandy beaches, is a distance of 20km with the fashionable resorts of Viarregio, Pietrasanta and Forte di Marmi. Florence is a 45 minute drive. In winter, skiing is 1 hour drive away at Abetone and Mt Cimone. Pisa is 23km to the south. The beautiful area of Cinque Terra is 40 minute drive. Golf courses are within an hours drive. Access to the motorway is a 15 minute drive.

Expert tuition is available for all levels from novice to expert, to help you make the most of your watercolour skills in the beautiful setting of Lucca and its surrounding countryside… and then after the days exertions you can enjoy delicious home cooked four course dinners accompanied by locally produced fine wine in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The next courses are 5th April to 10th April 2008 and 25th October to 30th October 2008

Cookery Courses: Cookery Courses are available during the year. Experience cookery courses for local Tuscan cuisine in the tranquil environment of our estate. You will be given lessons in theory and practice in preparing typical Tuscan dishes. Guided tastings of local wine and olive oil are provided.

Il Granaio: This charming newly restored house lies in the grounds of A Chele. Like A Chele the original character of the house has been preserved by using original materials including terracotta floors, chestnut beamed ceilings, and local Carrara marble. The house has a floor area of 150 sq m. The ground floor comprises a large lounge and dining area, with a fully fitted kitchen in painted wood and marble surfaces. There is also a laundry room and wc. The central stairs lead to the first floor with 3 large king size bedrooms with either double or twin beds. One bedroom is ensuite with bath, separate shower and twin basins, wc and bidet. There is another bathroom on the first floor with shower, basin bidet and wc. The bathrooms have been decorated similarly to A Chele with coloured stucco walls and tasteful lighting and chestnut beams, terracotta tiled floors, carrara marble surfaces, shower walls and floors with high quality bathroom fittings. Outside there is a restored Pizza oven for your use

A perfect Tuscan holiday home

This is a beautiful holiday home set in a secluded Tuscan landscape but near enough to Lucca and Pisa for sightseeing and Italian culture. We could have spent days sitting on the terrace, lounging by the pool, or exploring the local countryside. The house is very comfortable and welcoming, spacious without being intimidating, perfect for relaxing with friends. We would recommend it without hesitation.
