Beautiful old country house recently restored, situated just at the beginning of the Luccan hills, near Marlia. Located in a peaceful area, this marvellous location is within walking distance from shops and easy access to Lucca (12 km), Pisa and Florence. The interiors are very functional and the house is well equipped with modern facilities.

Particularly suitable for families with children, as a flat lawn surrounds the house. A large swimming pool, 5x10mt, is a few steps in front of the house. There is a terrace and a shaded veranda round a side where it is possible to enjoy outdoor meals. This part of the Luccan countryside is famous for its beautiful historical Villas. In particular, very close to the house, is the Villa Reale, where Elisa Bonaparte, Napoleon's sister and Princess of Lucca resided. The house keeper lives in a section of the house with his own private entrance.

We (family with 3 kids) loved this house: perfectly located 10km north of downtown Lucca, with great garden, nice pool and a relaxing view to the hills, quietly located on a garden road, the owner living next door and guarding the house. Big living room, kitchen well equipped, three nice sleeping rooms upstairs and a modern bath. A great location to explore Lucca, Pisa, the Versilia, Florence and even Cinque Terre or Siena. Also good for Mountain biking in the hills.

Our first taste of Tuscany

This is a beautiful house in a very peaceful location. The views from the rear of the house of the pool and the mountains beyond were fabulous. Great base for visiting all the tourist attractions and for jaunts into the Garfagnana region - highly recommended. The house was very clean and well-maintained and the owner, who lived next door, was very respectful of our privacy. Useful having a well-stocked supermarket only 10 minutes drive away in Marlia. Can highly recommend visitors speak to Monica (the English speaking contact) for advice on trips away from the main tourist hotspots.

Would highly recommend this house to family and friends.

Family holiday in Italy.

This property was in a beautiful and peaceful location. Lucca was a fantastic town and you could travel easily from here to Pisa, Florence and other places of interest. The beaches of Versilia were lovely and if you look carefully you don't have to pay. The house was cool and spacious even in August and the equipment was fine. Ask for the washing machine as it's down in the basement. The pool is deep so ensure if you have children you take necessary inflatables. Overall a lovely place to visit and would not hesitate to recommend the property.
