This lovely Italian house is owned by an Italian lady who now spends most of the time with her daughter. It is very well maintained and is spotlessly clean. It is located just outside one of the main gates of the walled city of Lucca and within walking distance of trains and buses. This two flooor house stands alone in its own grounds and offers : kitchen/diner, lounge, bathroom with shower, bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with two single beds. Outside there is a small a garden with an eating area and a barbeque. Private parking for one car, for those that want to use a car to get around.

The house is located 200 metres from one of the main gates into the walled city of Lucca. The city of Lucca is unspoilt and offers a whole range of attractions and eating places as well as extensive musical program throughout the year. There are 4 bicycles for use in the city and for around the top of the wall. Being in the centre of Tuscany, other cities are all within easy reach by train or bus. Florence to the east is 45min away, to the west lies the beaches of the Italian Riviera, 40min away and to the south Pisa, 30min away.

The accomodation was just as we expected. Clean and well looked after. There was everything there that you could possibly need, definately home from home.
Perfect for us and 2 small boys. Always some shade front or back to play in. Ideal location, easy to find, close to supermarket, train station and town, quiet area with friendly neighbours. Communications before our holiay with the owner were smooth and straightforward. Would recommend this accomodation to anyone.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

little house just outside Lucca walls

This lovely little dollhouse was a perfect place for myself, my husband and 2 girls. The immediate neighbourhood is somewhat industrial but very, very quiet. The great advantage is the proximity to both the train station (7 minutes on foot), the tourism office (5 minutes), the walls and entrance to the old city (3 minutes), the daily fruit and vegetable market (5 minutes). As we did not hire a car, we were able to take the train very easily to the beach (Viareggio), Pisa, Cinque Terre and beyond. (We preferred the non-stop bus to Florence over the train.) The owner of the house is extremely accomodating and even offered to drive us to the station the day we left (with all our luggage). The house, immaculately clean and charming as it is, is small and has only 1 bath, should that be a concern. A little enclosed garden at the back is lovely for meals. Washing machine was much appreciated.
