Lucca holiday villa: Gugliano

Set at the top of a hill, at the edge of a Chestnut wood, in two acres of its own land. On the edge of a small village, Casa Nuova has great views, privacy and a huge pool. Both the villa and the barn have been beautifully converted and have all mod-cons. The main house sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms, (2 bedrooms have matrimonial beds and 2 have singles) with two bathrooms and a shower-room. The barn sleeps 4 in a further 2 bedrooms (1 with matrimonial bed and 1 with bunk beds) and one large shower-room. There is satellite TV, DVD, Video and Stereo, washer/dryers, dishwashers, microwave, etc... Outside is a covered terrace with tables and seating for 16, a huge pergola by the pool, and other terraces. There are also vines and fruit trees, and a brick built bread oven - great for pizzas and barbeques.

Casa Nuova was built for the local priest at around the turn of the 20th Century - hence the name, as Casa Nuova is the newest house in the village! Built on three levels, the house was sympathetically restored in 1990 (re-decorated since then!) and the adjoining barn was converted in 1995. All the ceilings have exposed wooden beams and all the floors have the original terracotta tiles. On the Ground floor is the kitchen/dining room, and living room, which has french doors leading onto a covered terrace and brick built bread oven. In front of the house is a lawn for games. The swimming pool is a huge 6 metres by 13 metres and is set above the house and up a flight of steps. On the first floor of the main house there are 2 bedrooms (1 matrimonial and 1 twin) and two bathrooms (1 en suite to both bedrooms). On the second floor are 2 further bedrooms (1 matrimonial and 1 with 3/4 single beds). The barn has a further 2 bedrooms, 1 shower room, a kitchen and a living/dining room.
