Welcoming entry hall provides access to all three floors of the villa, virtually three separate self-contained wings. The ground floor contains a very large living/dining area with access to the grounds. It also has a kitchen, powder room, service and storage area including another bath with shower, one double bedroom with bath, one twin bedroom, one single bedroom and one bathroom. The first floor contains a large living room, private study, dining room, kitchen, laundry, one double bedroom and one twin bedded room, each with its own bath. The second floor has a very large living room, a separate dining room and a full kitchen. The views of the grounds and the surrounding hills are quite wonderful from every room on this floor. There are four bedrooms on the second floor (one double bedroom, two twin bedded rooms and one single). The second floor also has three full bathrooms, each fully renovated.

Notes: This villa is really a perfect accommodation for a big family or for a group of friends who want to live all together in a spacious villa and in the same time keep their own privacy by spending some time in the 3 different villa’s wings (each with independent entrance) The outside areas, about 5 acres, are very well-maintained. There's a little vineyard at one side of the villa and the land slopes down to a beautiful pool (14 x 7 metres) that sits in a sunny and protected spot. My husband and I took some australian friends to the villa for one week. The overall impression was very spectacular and very comfortable, The location was very good and easy to find from Lucca. The property was very clean and well maintained, however there were a few things that were dissapointing. The first major one for some in our party was the fact that the details stated that the property had sky television, which in fact it didn't. As the world cup was on at the time this was a big problem. I wrote to the owner after our visit about this, and he assured me that would be put right before the next season. The only other problem was that none of the staff at the house spoke any english, so when we had a problem with one of the bathrooms, we could not get across to them that it needed sorting out. It was not a major problem but if it had been it would have been difficult. On the whole though, we had a wonderful time, and felt very comfortable and well looked after. I would not hesitate to go again, hopefully in the not too sistant future.

In the full season it may happen that some times it can take more than the normal time to fix some problems...specially then when it coincides with the Football World Cup!! Now everything is OK..and our maid is much better with her English...so we hope to meet you again in Lucca a day!

Fabulous holiday location

We had a wonderful time in Lucca in July. Villa Isa accomodated our large group (3 families 14 people) well.

This lovely property is spectacular with great views, immaculately maintained landscaping (vineyard, olive trees, etc) and an awesome pool in a quiet and relaxing setting in the hills outside Lucca. Outdoor dining area and barbecue were a wonderful base for all activities, and the table tennis was enjoyed by all.

The villa amenities were extensive if a bit rustic, but all bathrooms are modernised and everything worked well. It was in the middle of a heat wave, so airconditioning would have been handy, but the house was well ventilated and the breeze from the sea cooled things off.

Dario and Genni were a pleasure to deal with, and their vinyard tour and post-tour tasting lunch are a major highlight not too be missed. The owners also helped with car rental and transport, and had reliable recommendations to meet every need. Lucca is a tremendous evening spot full of nice restaurants, and we also enjoyed being able to walk to the small restaurant near the villa when taking it easy. If we had more time (and with better planning) a prepared meal at the villa would have been nice.

The beach, Florence, San Gimignano, Pisa, are all good day trips, and the owners boat tour sounded great as well, but we had too many and didn't want to split the group. Insiders tip: take a short side trip to Collodi - smaller children will like the pinnochio park, but the gem is Villa Garzoni and its sloped garden of sculpture and caves.

Overall, we had a great time and hope we get the oppty to return soon.
