This lovely villa, situated in one of the best areas of the hills near Lucca, has been very tastefully restored in 1998. It is furnished with all modern comforts. Despite its private and quiet position it is only 15 minutes walking distance to the town of Lucca and 25 minutes drive to the coast and beaches.

The location of this villa is really special. It is just in the middle of a beautiful countryside and in the same time it is at walking distance from the walled town of Lucca. From the windows and the garden there are lovely views on the mountains and the valley below, the walled town of Lucca with its towers, and the hills all around. Lucca is a small city with a rich history that is magically preserved. The Roman city, the medieval city, the Renaissance city, the nineteenth century city: traces of all of these may still be found here. A walk through the centre of Lucca becomes an exciting voyage through the centuries, through history. Apart from the significant monuments, such as the sixteenth-seventeenth century walls, Lucca stands out for its atmosphere and lively centre, with its cafe', shops, restaurants. Thanks to its northern location in Tuscany the beautiful beaches of Viareggio and the renovated 5 Terre are very easily reachable, by train or by car.

A perfect Tuscan home from home

We enjoyed a wonderful stay in Casa Rita back in July and felt thoroughly at home. The villa is situated on a quiet suburban road and is very well equipped with comfy beds and a lovely private garden to relax in. Our three-year old was perfectly safe there as the property is gated and the interior is child-friendly. There is plenty to do in the area and supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and shops abound in the local area. Lucca is truly magical (if you haven't been, just GO!) and it is only a short drive to the mountains and beach.

We will definitely return to the villa for future holidays and would recommend it to fellow travellers. Dario and Genni and the Housekeeper clearly love the house, and this can be felt when you stay there - it is truly a peaceful nest which is conducive to real relaxation! We asked them tons of questions too and they were always really helpful.

Overall, a superb place to stay.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

This is a beautiful villa near Lucca. The villa is situated just outside Lucca and is an ideal base for exploring Lucca. We rented bikes in the citycenter. On the bike it's 5 minutes to Lucca. The villa is very proper and nice furnished. It has a small fenced garden ideal for little children. There are two spacy bedrooms. The third room is on the attic. The owners live just beside the house. They were very nice and helpfull.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
