La Veduta is situated on the main street of the ancient castellated village of Radicondoli. It is a top floor two bedroom apartment with magnificent views of the village rooftops from the strategically placed terrace which seems to have been specifically built to let you enjoy the breathtaking expanse of ever changing Tuscan countryside. A feast for the eyes in any season. The property has been entirely and carefully renovated by its present owners and fitted with all modern comforts, while retaining its traditional Tuscan character, including a log fire, cotto floor and wooden beam ceilings. The double bedroom has en suite shower room, there is a separate bathroom. The second bedroom can either sleep one or two in separate single beds or alternatively be set up with a double bed at the guests' choice. Radicondoli and nearby Belforte are medieval villages resembling districts of nearby Siena. Moreover Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Massa Marittima and beaches are within easy reach.

Radicondoli is an unspoilt castellated medieval village midway between Siena and Volterra whose architecture it reflects. The lay out of the village is almost unchanged since 1300 which was its heyday with a thriving wool trade. From its 500 metres the village dominates a 360° panorama over the surrounding area with woodland a main feature. From here you look down the beautiful Cecina river valley and the unique hot steam springs that are harnessed for geothermic power production. Volterrra, San Gimignano and many other villages can be seen on the surrounding hills. Massa Marrittima is just over 40 minutes away and many seaside resorts are only a further short distance away. Radicondoli is within the Siena province and like most of this area is famed for its agricultural produce such as wine, oil and sheep milk cheese. This is therefore an area to be visited at any time of the year, even in winter, especially if you have the benefit of full central heating and a log fire to go home to.

A magical experience

We were enchanted by the flat,its location and the very friendly,helpful owners.
The views were ravishing ,even if the steps upstairs were challenging after a full day's sight-seeing.
All facilities in the flat worked very well and the nights were only disturbed by the occasional calling of owls.
We enjoyed the slow pace of the village, the early morning walk to the bakery,greeting local people on the way,or the visit to the Cafe Nationale for an early morning coffee and croissant and the local gossip.
We visited a local farm which produces organic food and bought oil and preserves and were intregued to read about the local theatre productions.
Local restuarants gave us good meals with excellent service and there were several small shops to provide all our needs for self catering.
I would strongly recommend this propery and location for an adventurous or peaceful holiday.
Having or hiring a car is best for exploring the area. Buses are few !!

The house is wonderful. It's perfect for a holiday perfect. Has everything, maps, routes, recommendations ... and everything to make your stay easier and more enjoyable. Hazel has thought about every detail. The views are beautiful. The village is nice, and at the Cafe Nazionale, just steps from the house, you can have a great diner or breakfast at a good price. I do not know what to say, but that I recommend this house if you want to spend a few days getting to know the Tuscany.
