Radicondoli holiday apartment: Belforte, Radicondoli

We stayed at Il ciliegio (small apartment for 2/3 people) for a week in August 2008. The apartment was lovely clean, tidy and well maintained with all equipment you need. There is a small outside space at the top of the stairs but there is no view from this. The owner is very friendly and keen to practice his English, inviting us to a party at his home and inroducing us to his family. He was also happy to suggest places to visit and recommend restaurants etc.
The pool was clean and had a fantastic view. As it is shared with only one other property we had it to ourselves for the majority of our break. We got to see a family of wild boar and deer in the fields below the house but you need to get up early!
The path the the village is very very steep, we did attempt it on a couple of occassions to visit the shop which is well stocked and has a great village atmosphere.
In August many of the local villages have music/arts festivals which are well worth a visit. We ate at 2 different restaurants in Radicondoli, La pergola is particularly good although we didn't discover it 'till our last night - get there early or book for a table outside.
Property is well placed for visiting the sites, Volterra, San Gimignano, Radicondoli, Siena are all well worth a visit!
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to friends it really is a fantastic place to get away from it all!
