Come and enjoy a taste of authentic Tuscan country life in stunning settings, amidst olive groves and vineyards tendered by a most hospitable family who run this organic farm. Podere La Fonte is ancient and stone built, situated in a most spectacular position just below the medieval village of Radicondoli. It has magnificent uninterrupted views over the Cecina valley and the surrounding hills. At night you can see the lights of Volterra, San Gimignano, Colle Val D'Elsa and many other villages nestling in the hills all around you. Florence is one hour away and Siena, Volterra and San Gimignano just forty minutes by road. A short walk away is the village of Radicondoli. A perfectly preserved historic village with good restaurants, pizzerias and bars. There are shops selling local produce, a bakery for fresh bread each morning. Your hosts are waiting with oil, wine and a warm welcome.

Whether you choose to stay put, or explore the surrounding countryside and famous sites, Podere La Fonte has the answer for you. You can choose to rent as little as one of the tree double rooms (with no cooking facilities), one of the two self catering apartments or all the accommodation on offer for a larger group. Although there are no cooking facilities for the three rooms your hosts are happy to provide meals for an additional charge. Even for self caterers, why not take the chance to be served genuine good food made from local produce, lots of it produced by your hosts on the farm? You will not regret your choice and will be able to enjoy the farm's spacious eating settings. The owners have reserved three double rooms (within the main farmhouse) for those who wish to have a more economic option.Two of the rooms are next to each other with a bathroom reserved in this separate wing of the farmhouse and is ideal for friends or family. Public tennis court (to be booked locally), 5 minutes walk from the farm. Horse riding 1/2 hour from Radicondoli in Castelnuovo Val di Cecina (to check availability and book please ring + 39 339 6331758). Nice natural pool in the river Cecina for splashing at ten minutes by car. Nature reserves nearby. The units can be let individually or in any mix at the guests' choice. There is always something of interest happening in this area, the heart of Tuscany. The accommodation is most comfortable in all weathers so why not consider a holiday here in the autumn or winter as well as spring and summer!

FOOD PROVIDED ON REQUEST

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner can be arranged upon request in Podere la Fonte. Our wholesome meals are based on our own organic produce: including cereals, vegetables, fruit, herbs, oil, wine fresh farm eggs. These provide us with the basic ingredients for our traditional healthy and wholesome dishes. At breakfast we serve home produced jam and fruit juices not to mention our fresh free range farm eggs. As far as possible we try to purchase all other produce from organic sources. We charge € 5 per person for breakfast and between €18 and €25 for Main Meals (price include farm produced house wine). Produce for sale. Our home-made products include: wine, olive oil, olives, jam, food preserves, vegetables, medicinal plants and fruit are all for sale on request.

We are open all the year round. Arrival time 16.00-21.00. Departure by 11.00 am please.

Booking confirmation

BOOKING CONFIRMATION: Within three working days of a provisional booking on the phone or by email, you are please requested to promptly arrange payment of 30 % of the overall charge as a non-returnable deposit. HOW TO PAY THE DEPOSIT: By direct payment to our Post Office account ( Banco Posta ) the details of which are as follows (either at your local post office or through your bank): Please contact us for details of our bank.
