The cottage is self contained and makes up a number of buildings on this working farm called 'Podere Casanova' in the village of Pievescola, Tuscany. This self catering cottage is ideal for 4 people. Access to the farm is through electronic gates at the main road, there is a designated parking area near the cottage. Four generations of the same Italian family live on the farm. The cottage has one double and one single bedroom with a nice large modern shower room. There is a large living/kitchen area leads into out onto the outside space. The inside of the cottage boasts exposed oak beams, terracotta floors, wooden shutters, marble sink in the kitchen and a wood burning open fire. There is a plentiful supply of wood from the private chestnut woods which adjoin the farm. There is a seating area outside with table and chairs for al fresco dining. The view from the cottage is of the hills, woodland and the nearby village of Pievescola.

THERMAL SPAS/GOLF

Visit le Terme Sensoriali which is a new experience offered at the Chianciano Terme. Visitors may follow 'pathways of the senses' along which the body's energy field is rebalanced. On the lower level of the Terme Sensoriali visitors will be able to handle and freely apply various kinds of fango, highly mineralized mud used in treatments. Guests can also experience intense sensations such as the ice crash, a regenerating icy shower, or meditate while curled up in cosy egg-shell shaped armchairs. At the end of each pathway guests will be able to drink the waters of three springs used since ancient times. Closer to the cottage is the ancient spa town of Gambassi Terme. Both health and beauty treatments are available. GOLF Golfing is available at the Castelfalfi golf club in Montaione, a 45 minute drive from the cottage. PLACES TO EAT/THINGS TO DO

You must visit Molino il Moro restaurant in Colle val d'Elsa. This restaurant is managed by the family you will be staying with. The restaurant is a converted water mill which you can see working, it has a great ambiance, exceptional food and reasonable prices! Brochures and menu for the restaurant are available in the apartment. La Speranza restaurant is located on the main road into Colle val d'Elsa. Have your breakfast in the bar with the local 'cacciatore' - hunters! or book a table in the main restaurant next door for lunch or dinner. Both of the above are frequented by locals and the odd tourist who is lucky enough to stumble across them. HORSE RIDING/TREKKING 'Il Fregione' is an exceptional equistrian centre in Gambassi Terme, it is a 25 minute drive from the cottage. The instructors will lead you through a breathtaking itinerary so that you may become acquainted with the famous land of the Etruscans. They take great care of children, introducing them to riding in a fun way

Val di Chiana outlet village is located just 70km from the cottage. Here you have discounted designer brands with up to 70% off the retail price. There are also cafe's and a good restaurant upstairs. Prada Village - The prada village is near Montivarchi, about one hours drive from the cottage. Crystal Factories. This region of Tuscany is the biggest producer of crystal in Europe, visit the factory shops near Colle val d' Elsa. Directions to all the above is available in the guest information in the apartment.
