La Balza is a stone farm house built in the XVII century, it forms a part of a private property six hectares large, situated inside the Natural and Artistic Park of the Val d'Orcia - Siena. The house is surrounded by a green garden opened on a typical Tuscany hills landscape with a swimming pool at guest's disposal. Recently restored with handicraft materials and finishes, in observance of the architectonic original characteristics. La Balza offers all the comfort to make it an ideal place for a natural holiday.

Our stay at La Balza July 2008

We had a lovely stay at La Balza and thought that our apartment had been very thoughtfully furnished and prepared. It had a really welcoming and relaxing atmosphere with lots of little touches that made you feel you were staying in a friends home rather than an impersonal apartment. The owners Elio and his wife were very kind and helpful. The only tiny improvement we would suggest would be the introduction of a few sunbeds by the pool as well as the deck chairs but that really is all that was missing for us. We found a really lovely restaurant in Castiglione, in fact, it appeared to be the only one, which served the most amazing leek ravioli I have ever had and the owner and his wife were very welcoming. We would definitely recommend this property to friends.
