Laura's 300 year old Tuscan house in the heart of the wine region. Sinalunga, Centro Storico, provides a perfect base. Perched on a hilltop, this wonderful old building offers a chance to escape from it all. With the rustic beams and original terracotta floors, the sunny sitting room and kitchen have superb views across the village to the Umbrian hills.

From Sinalunga it is 30 minutes in the car to Siena, 20 min to Montepulciano, 25 Pienza, 20 Cortona and 20 to the lakes. A bus leaves the piazza daily for Florence and there is a train at the bottom of the hill to Rome. The old hilltop Centro Storico of Sinalunga has outstanding views, a quaint piazza, several churches, a little theatre, bars and an excellent restaurant.

Notes: There is a weekly maid service and your washing is done for you and all included in the price. The property is situated in a quiet street, two minutes from the piazza Garibaldi and with wonderful views. It is a short walk to little food shops, two bars and and two excellent restaurants. There is a thriving market in the piazza every Tuesday morning and the locals are kind and friendly. All you have to do is get on a plane and fly here!

Important note!: The most convenient time for arrival is after lunch around 4. Please telephone on arrival and go to the Bar l'Angola in the piazza where I shall meet you and take you to the property. Special arrangements can be made if your flight is late. Please vacate the property no later than 10 in the morning. I look forward to welcoming you here in Sinalunga. Thank you.

Things to tempt you!: Rosa's bread shop is only round the corner from the house. Andrea is waiting for you in the Bar l'Angola with his homemade ice creams. Then there's Ortello waiting to mix you cocktails in his bar across the piazza, and after dining in the local restaurant, 'le Grotte', you may decide to stay forever. And then of course, there's the wine, the wonderful wine! Need I say more?

Swimming: There is an outdoor swimming pool only ten minutes walk from the house. Light meals and drinks are served there. There are also the famous Rapolano salfa baths 15 minutes drive away where you can swim, eat delicious meals in the restaurant and then be massaged, or covered in mud, whatever your fancy!

Other Activities: hot air ballooning.

A Dream Holiday in Tuscany

We arrived in Sinalunga under a typical Tuscan blue sky as the bustling market was just getting into full swing - and what a market! The range of produce and the friendly people was only the beginning of a beautiful 2 week experience in this special town. Once parked we found the apartment building nestled in the 'old town' with views to die for - this gave us our first clue of what to expect knowing that the apartment was one floor up from the cobbled narrow streets. However, on entering the large and beautifully furnished living room/kitchen the window opposite revealed a dream view of the countryside - what a start! The rest of the apartment was a delight with modern bathroom fittings complimenting hand picked antique furniture and oil paintings by the owner.

We throughly enjoyed the company of the owners Laura and Rosalbo who told us of special restaurants to visit and places to see - the place was an absolute find. The only disappointment was how the time just sped by but we will be back without any hesitation. A dream experience that gave us a dream holiday - go and see for yourself and you will not be disappointed!!

What a time we've had here. Four days sightseeing then how wonderful it was to come back to this fabulously comfortable home for a further week. Difficult to tear ourselves away!

Wonderful time again

Two wonderful weeks again. Third time in "our Tuscan home", twenty weeks altogether in the good care of Laura. Everything was just perfect. We love this place more and more every time.

We have been sure, that there can’t be better place than the province of Siena, more peaceful and nice village than Sinalunga, more lovely apartment than Laura’s Hideaway, but we may be wrong; Laura introduced us her new
apartment just twenty steps from the Hideaway – what a gorgeous residence!

Now our only problem is which one we shall choose next, Hideaway or the new one. Thank you, Laura and Rosalbo."

We can only echo what has been said by all who came before us! The apartment is delightful - spacious, well equipped and beautifully fitted out. The views are to die for even though due to the high temperatures the shutters have been closed a lot. Our first time in Tuscany but probably not the last. Thank you for providing for our every need!

Thank you Laura and Rosalbo for a wonderful experience. The apartment was perfect, the view fantastic. Thanks for your recommendation of the Grotte for dinner. A great meal despite our lack of Italian. We enjoyed most of all the small village experience in the evenings as we got ourselves a dish of gelato at bar Angolo and headed down to the park to watch the old guys play Bocci. The park is such an alive place after dinner with everyone from children to seniors. Thanks again for such a great place to base our vacation.
